where can one find a replacement retainer clip for the throttle cable and tv cable for the v6? are they available at most parts stores or just special order...

I can go down to the scrap yard and get the one from an 85 GT. I cant remember if there's still one on my junk engine in the garage. I will look. If someone else has one, by all means.

a C clip of the right size from any hardware store will do in a pinch.
But I would still try to find the correct clip for safety.

When I lost mine I bought several E clips from my local hardware store until I found one that fits. Also, the auto parts stores have assorted E clip packs. E clip is a C clip with less material. Works the same.

I was thinking the same thing... I will check with Napa tomorrow and maybe the dealer. I will post what I find...

I believe that Dorman/Helps sells these clips in a bubble pack. Look in their online catalog.

C & E cli[s will work in a pinch to keep the cable in place; but they won't take up any slack. The stock clips lock the cables in place and pulls them forward as well...
