Anybody know if one exists? I was just looking at a DeLorean site today and noticed that they had 2.85L engines. I figured that you might be able to make one considering that the dimentions might be close with the rear mount and close engine size. Anybody know size difference? Anyway, just thought it might be an idea, as if driving a Fiero isn't rare enough.

A DeLorean crossed in front of me the other day while I was at a stoplight, and I couldn’t help but compare it to my Fiero. The Fiero looks WAY more modern; sleeker and has cleaner lines. I’ll give the DeLoaean extra points for the gull wing doors, but when it’s on the road, the whole package just doesn’t seem to work. The front end on the DeLorean is terrible looking. The tires looked undersized. I don’t think I would ever build a kit like the DeLorean.
Now the Diablo……. that’s another story.
Just my thoughts

Personally, I'm getting really tired of seeing Diablo/Countach conversions (Cobras, too). Everywhere you look (shows, mags, etc) that seems to be all you see. I think the kit car world needs an infusion of new ideas. Now back to your regular programming.
OK just cause I got bored I wrote Pontiac and asked if they had the front facia and rear clip from the 89 prototype avail. Any guess on what their response will be?
I bought my Delorean for $10,250 with 29k miles on it. I look at it this way, someone once told me "You get there in a Fiero, but you arrive in a Delorean". The Fiero is an awesome car, and tons of fun, but in reality it isn't a supercar. I'll always have a Fiero, but I won't always have my Delorean. I would definately buy a real one instead of making some sort of kit. With my Fiero, I take the things I like about the Delorean and try to add them to my Fiero (black leather interior, great suspension, wide tires, low wide stance, and eventually louvers). Likewise, I would kill to get rid of the 2.8 PRV-60 that resides in my D, it just lacks whatever it is the the Fiero 2.8 has. Anyways, Mike Schaefer

This is from the November 25, 1985 issue of AutoWeek. It is about as close as you will get to a Fiero and Delorean in a magazine. It also shows why I call my Fiero a 1986 1/2GT

i think a scorocco to a delorian conversion would work but not a fiero ugh delorians are cool but not unless they look like the one from back to the future i'd convert mine to that
i am sick of cobras too.. they are nice but the kit world is not cobra/countach/diablo. i like european kits because there are less replicas & more original cars... when looking at kits dont forget the vw kits.. sterling, laser, humbug, porshes, dune buggies, brubaker box, etc... its just the mags always showcase the big 3.. concentrating on the cobra (in my opinion). i mean when was the last time u looked in a kit mag & didnt see some article on a cobra. let alone lambo clone?
I'm guessing the same as last time I called PMCARES - "Are you SURE Pontiac made a car called the Fiero? Can you spell that for me again? I find no record of any Fiero in our database anywhere."

Their engines and drivelines were, for all practical purposes, built by Volvo. Personally, I would cry if any part of my Fiero were powered by Volvo ........

Interesting that it states the 86 1/2 will replace the current GT, and many have contested this early GT's even being. Hmmm .. I still stand by the fact that I once had the opportunity to purchase an '86 GT, which resembled the '85 version (notchback), except that it had a 3rd brake light. Had I have known the controvery this car would have brought in future Fiero circles, I would have photographed it in detail.
A friend of mine traded his Built 89 Mustang GT to some guy for a Delorean. Its a very cool car, but its as fast as a turtle in the mud. Plus the interior is Very dated. The Fiero is 16 years old and the interior still looks semi-current looking. But dont get me worng Ill still take one
Does anyone make a kit to convert a Delorean into an '88 Fiero GT? j/k
I've always liked Deloreans. I can remember back when the first Back to the Future movie was out,(was just a snot nose kid) I wanted one with the big rear vents and a flux capacitor sooo bad.
i think i'll put a flux capacitor in my fiero right where the glove box is just like in the delorian from back to the future maybe i'll go back in time!! muahahha
