I was just curious about what everyone thinks of the looks of the 1989 prototypes. I myself love the GT style...but those coupes, YUCK! just my opinion

I loved them, even tried to buy them from Pontiac, but they declined me. Jim('84 Indy)

i saw some pics of the 89 concept car. i thought it kinda looked like a firebird from certain angels, especially from the side.

What generation Firbird do you think it looks like? Cause if it's the Gen4, then the Firebird looks like the 89 Fiero. Personally I think the front of the 89GT looks like the new Vette, but the Vette is obviously gotten more curves with age in that nose, and the rear looks like the rear of an NSX...
Almost identical to the rear of an NSX only an NSX's rear is longer because the engine is mounted differently.

Wasn't it Nissan that bougth the 89GT moulds, hence the similar silhouette between the Fastback GT's and the 90+ 300ZX...?

Somebody wanna make a 300ZX kit for a Fiero? Add a glass hatch and a new nose with fog lights and gee, what's the new thing for headlight kits on Fiero's...low profile headlights that don't flip and just put a glass cover over the opening...
and remove the black stripe that runs along the length of the car...

In my opinion, the 1989 Fiero GT has got to be the coolest looking car I've ever seen in my life. I would sell a kidney for one of those.. (well, not really).

I'm talking about those grey ones.. the pictures that are parked in the grass in front of that building..

I heard that car has a 3.4 DOHC V6 with the Getrag... the idea of that motor in that wicked shell... with a 7,500rpm redline... argg.... droool..... whew..

cold shower.. cold shower...

The 89 GT prototype is an awsome looking car IMO. If Pontiac were to put it on sale tomorrow as is, I certainly would eb at the dealer signing on the dotted line!

I'd buy on tomorrow for 22K if it had an updated interior and a hotter 3.4 and an aluminum engine cradle to balance the weight distribution better...
Ok, I'd pay $25k...

Is the 89 engine supposed to be a 3.4L ??? I have just bought a 89 Fiero engine (see story in tech section)...The fellow says he thinks it's a 2.8L. And that it has the same valve covers as any other Fiero engine. The engine I have just bought is engine code CFC can anyone research this code for me ? I really don't care but it would be neat to know...Ya know...lol

I like how they did the sail panels. From the sides, it looks like a rear windowed hatch, but when you look at it, it is all open.

I totally agree.... the body on that 1989 Fiero GT.... oh man.. drool...

If I saw one of those on the road, I'd probably wreck and then wet myself.

ONE MORE YEAR... is all it would have taken....

I had heard that the motor in the 1989 GT was a 3.4 DOHC....

Like I said, all it's missing is a shot with Dogtired's daughter on the hood.

Thanks for posting the pics. I like the front and rear 3/4 views but not the profile. I especially dislike that wrap around fastback rear window which makes it look like a Firebird from the side. I always thought the Firebird would look better as a notchback (and the convertible showed that was true)and I'll bet this car would too. Funny, it looks more like a front engine car than a mid-engine.

I read somewhere that dogtired's daughter's name is Breeann and she lives in Kansas. I'm sure dogtired would appreciate me saying that all over the Net wouldn't he? Just a rumor anyway.

You wouldn't be the first one. Someone a week ago posted everything from Dog tired's e-mail, to her location, to her name.. this and that.. all to the Fiero Mailing list.

Shes famous now.

1st a request to all of you editing wizards. Could anyone kindly fill in the top hole in the front fascia of the red '89?? Please.

2nd. Regarding BreeAnn. Nothing personal to anyone here, but since she lives with daddy (dogtired), I'm guessing anyone here wouldn't get within 30 feet of her without having an arm or other appendage seriously mangled. He's probably a pretty protective father.

Monkeyman, that is unless of course, the person seeking the date makes a lot of money, is down to earth, clean cut, AND likes Fieros.

Just my opinion, but I've gotten to know a bunch of you, and, as the father of a daughter (not BreeAnn's age, but she's still my daughter), you still wouldn't get close. You'd just have to leave the car....
