Just got a '86 solid black GT, nice shape but has a bad engine. In the process of getting it running again I was wondering about changing the interior color to a dark subdued red... Anyone done this?
I'm considering something similar.I'm doing the interior of my red Formula in red accents.Going with Mr.Mikes Indy style (no emblems)red in the center, gray on the outside leather seats.Thinking about red carpeting too,but not sure how that's gonna look.

Hmmm...I dunno. I had a 78 Trans Am. It was silver w/ red interior. It looked nice (for that car), but I dont know how it would look in a Fiero. To me red (interiors) seem to "date" the car, but, who knows...go for it. M7F

I too am adding red accents as I am reconfiguring my dash to raise the instruments a bit. I must be built like Quasimodo because they are always blocked by the wheel. Will have black carpet and dark red vinyl and fabric panels and console.
I found a resto company here that will make any colour carpet (fuzzy, loop, etc. too) to factory specs (includes foot pads and such) for $225 CDN. Gary

Red is an awesome accent color. Using red as a base color is very tricky due to it's overpowering properties. I am also using red as an accent in my leather interior. If you can pull it off, you da man! Good luck! Here's a pic of my seats.
Peace, B2 OUT!

Right, BAM-BAM, red is a fussy color to do an interior with tastefully. I used to have an MGB that was black with a red interior, it was quite striking... I can see where two-tone red/black or red/gray could work... Oh oh...the wheels are turning again... C02M0
