Heres a few unfortunately low quality pics of my finally finished new interior. Shame the pics aren't better quality, but what do you expect from a $3000 digital video camera /c:
Must have been my shaky hands at finishing the job and filming it in shitty light.
Seats, doortrims, carpet and headliner by upholsterer. Custom console and custom dash features by myself, including home made white face gauges in KM/H and lots of carbon fibre features. Steering wheel had to be adapted as we can't buy Fiero custom wheels here.

I bought it RHD in a sorry state from the 1st owner who brought it to Australia when she emmigrated from Canada. I have since redone pretty much the whole RHD conversion due to original shoddy workmanship. Heres one to make ya's cringe. A Volvo steering rack is an exact match to a Fiero one. Spline, end shafts and width are all the same. Not sure which model it is though.

Hmmm indeed skitime..Are you thinking what I am now thinking? Even though it has been staring me in the face for the 2 years I have had the car.
On other replies, LH to RH conversion here done by a convertor on a Fiero about $5000. Do it yourself, about $2000. Both in Aus pesos..oops dollars.
Home made white face gauges I will break down another time when I perfect them...this lot are good but I have found room for a fair bit of improvement. Will keep them homemade but.
Glad ya's all like the interior. The red isn;t a solid red. Pics don't show it but it has a faint black V pattern running vertically through it.

Right on, skitime, I'm thinkin the same thing. Can you say "long ass hydraulic hoses"... Too bad pontiac never produced that electric pump. Wait... how does Toyota solve their MR-2 power steering challenge? Hmmmm...
AusFiero... I see speakers on your door, can we get some good pics of those? Where did you find them?
I'll be damned! I have never seen a RHD Fiero before and I'll probably never see one again. I never even knew they were made that way. Thanks for posting these pics!

RHD would be so cool! Though I agree that shifting with my left hand would take some getting used to. The interior is so bright and clean. What a georgeous car. And it looks stock.
I have a hard time justifying what some people spend on mods, but this I can see as being a sweet thing to do. That is just so cool. Did I say it was cool?

crutchfield.com handles Xplode but I don't know about the pods they mount in. They were in the latest catalog I recieved yesterday.

The door pods are made of layers of MDF board shaped to the desired shape the covered in Vinyl. I will be manufacuring them soon in fibreglass, unsure how much they will be yet. Will post some close ups of them.
Come to Australia and you will see 50 right hand drive Fieros, not that we will ever get them all in the one place together.
The Sub console is my pride and joy. Will go into details on that 1 later but basically it is MDF board, made from scratch. It is fully insulated and sounds great. It is 1/2" wider in the rear top section and 2" deeper than a standard Fiero Console and does not intrude in anyway (eg:shoulders etc). Will do some drawings of the inner workings of it.
The console storage area was a fortunate by product of putting a sub there. It holds 20 CDs. I need to rethink it a little though cause when you crank the bass right up the CD's start dancing.
Well I am off to the Australian Pontiac Nationals now to try win some trophies. Back in 4 days and will reply to everyones queries properly then.
Glad ya's like the interior as I am hoping to take pout top custom interior and best Fiero. Shouldn't be too hard for the latter as there is only 4 Fieros attending. I have seen the other 3, they might as well send me the trophy now.

Are those 5.25" or 6.5" speaks in the doors? Just curious. Iv got 6.5's in the kickpanels, but this door panel setup looks a little nicer IMO. (Its just a shame your beautiful installation was ruined by those Sony Xplod speakers in there) Just kiddin, they should sound pretty descent. But, honestly, If I went to all the work to make an installation look that clean and custom, I woulda used alot higher-end speakers. Where are you amps, if any, mounted?
That interior looks sweet! I wished I wouldn't have backed out of the idea for a red interior now, I went 2-tone gray leather and vinyl.

No matter which side of the dateline you are on, that is a masterfully beautiful interior!!! The seats are just gorgeous, the doors are tastefully exotic without looking like someone just nailed and duct taped speakers onto them. The red in the interior is done to accent the interior without BECOMING the interior.
Bravo on the the details!
The silver switches and the retaining bolts might just start to find their way onto "Yankee" Fieros too!
As for the center console mounted sub, Chris West has one that Ive been eyeing for some time now...just saving up my couch change for it....
Id have shakey hands too if I had designed and built such a fantastic driving Excitement!
I respectfully request to post these pictures along with your comments in our next club newsletter. It is simply inspiring!

Ahhhh someone who has seen my reason for going the Explode system. Personally I am a Pioneer fan, but as I told my wife when I bought the Sony, "I shopped like a woman cause it looked pretty in the car"
Also with a sub 7" or 8" from your ear it has the desired effect. Although I have already decided I need 2 6X9 speakers behind the seats to add a better mid range "bass wise" to the current combination, or a better cd player. Has plenty of top and bottom end but is missing that little extra in the mid range area.
Will answer lots of the other questions above as I go through them.

They are painted. If you intend to try it take time with the preparation of the plastic switches and vents. I found a wipe over with a damp thinners rag not long before painting softened the surface of the old plastic and made the acrylic paint really bite into it. Paint colour is an Australian GM colour so I am sure you will have a similar one there.
wonder what a LHD to RHD conversion would run...
