formulas kick A$$. hehe. but i want a gt too. well i like em all. If i could have another i would have a black gt with ttops. no spoiler, tan interior, gold wheels, and all options of course. =Þ~~~
Someone once said to me (I forget who but I totally agree) that the GT looks like a sophisticated car for GRAND touring (hence GT) where the notchback looks more like a FUN car

I prefer the Fastback because I've owned both styles and people look more at my Fastback then my Notchback. I'm an "all looks no go" kind of girl so V6 to duke doesn't matter. I enjoyed my 5spd Notchback but I LOVE my Fastback!!!
fastback looks the best for me,but the notchback with wheels and lowered and painted just looks killer,in it's stock form it's ok unless it's an indy, but it's all the same, pure joy to drive,if you can't decide do what i and others have done, buy both.AL 84 indy 4 speed 86gt 89gta
I love both too!! The fastbks do get more looks as stated above but my favorite STOCK Fiero is a yellow 88 Formula 5-speed with T-tops. I love my fastbk though....oh jeez..I just can't pick one, I like them all to much!

I love the fastback look. It looks more Like a ferrarri to me. Or so people always let me know. But an 85 gt that is mint also looks killer. Has to have a wing though.!!
The FASTBACK looks like a larger car. The NOTCHBACK looks more agressive. The FASTBACK looks more exotic. The NOTCHBACK looks more like a boy racer. All in all, i'd take a silver Formula with a 5 speed. Naw, a black fastback with a 4 speed is what i need!
i'm about to get my first fastback but i'll always like notches better. they have a more individualized look to me. gt's look like they could almost be any other hatchback type coupe.
id have to agree with Phil and max here. GT's look too much like any other hatchback(300z, CRX, RX7) from the side. notch back is unique. however i love the taillights for the Fastbacks. so why not have the best of both.

Hard to say... Having 2 notchbacks and a newly acquired fastback, I tend to be more fond of the notchback body. It's unique silhouette is instantly recognizable as "Fiero"; whereas the fastback has a more conventional outline. Some of my "non-Fiero" friends (yeah, I'm working on them ) say the fastback looks larger and meaner (some even say "pregnant"). When you're in the drivers' seat tho the only difference is rearward visibility (or lack of it...) I love tough choices...

Both types of backs are great. My first encounter with a Fiero was an '85 notchback. That car was sweet--then I met up with like the GTA club for a run down to Cayauga and found out that Fieros actually come in different shapes and sizes (relatively speaking)! I still have a special place for the notchback, but I think I like the curves of the fastback better Looks more aerodynamic.
I can't decide the answer to this any more than I can decide the answer to the classic question "Ginger or Mary Ann"? They're both beautiful and appealing, but in different ways.
I've never had a fastback, though. Guess I'm a Mary Ann kind of guy.

I'm hooked on fastbacks. All kinds of fastbacks. Most of the cars I've own have been that way. The knotchback has a very individual look while the fastback is unique. It's in the eye of the owner who can find what they like most in the car. So what ever floats your boat....Bad metafore. What ever puts wind in your sail(panel) So be it.

I'm with SS on this one, The Notch/GT on the Purple Payvement Eater is by far the best quasi-stock back end. But if I had to choose between the 2, I'd go notchback. The GT's even lowered look like the ford probe from the side. The notch just screams "I'm A Freak!!!" hehehe.

Fastbacks for sure. Im not too against the notchback itself, it looks reall cool with a wing but the triangle sail windows and the tail-lights just don't do it for me.

Notchback for me. My first fiero was an 85 GT. Then I had an 87 sc. Both cars did not have a wing. I really miss the GT though.
I am in the process of buying another 85 GT now. Some lady owns it, and I don't have all the cash. So she is letting me make a few payments on it. Its only an automatic though, but it does have the wing.
Although everytime I see sjp777's Fiero, it makes me want a fastback.
