I was talking to a friend and he has a spare 4.5" cone filter I bought it from him for $20.. (oh RodrV6.. you can have my stock K&N) well it would drop right on the stock intake tube.. but the temps would be just stoopid high.. and the sucking noise was unbareable in the car. you couldn't hear yourself think! anywho.. so i went to the shop.. and found a 90* 2.5" bend and an 11" piece of 2.5" tubing (the piping we use for turbo hard piping) measured and cut welded and drilled a BIG hole. after asembly i closed the hatch and POOF.. no annoying sucking sound and a larger volue in the intake.. well the dyno computers were sut off for the day but we were running the 1/8 anyway..

all last weekend i ran consistant 10.0++s... well this sunday i ran 2 9.8++s at 67-69mph a 1 9.9++!!! Pics and time slip to follow in a few minutes.

My buddy in his Focus deceided to gut his car.. we took the seats carpet and a spare out he went from 11.3s to 10.5!!!

i'm #321 the guy next to me is a friend in a 97 Maxima...

in the tech inspection lanes...

the prototype intake...

notice the throttle body coolant by pass also... that was done months ago...

OH FOR Sale.. Crane PS91 coil.. mild heat damage .. $1+ shipping.. i'll get pics of the coil that melted too.. it was too close to the manifolds and the epoxy resin just came out and the car died in the driveway!

Busy this weekend? if i can get away for a while i'll change some stuff on your car.. the TB bypass is EASY and is free HP (1st or 2nd mod i made to my cars) have you spoken to the guys at Design one about your lean issues?

heheheheh... there is a factory equipped 3"x4.5" hole in the passengerside of the trunk... where the usually non-working blower is located.. i yanked mine when the car was in the frame shop. I'm not sure if i should use the spray-on bedliner or get new carpet for the trunk....

So I guess that you may get similar results from Chris West units. they look similar in shape and length. Just different routing and that yours will be more quiet being sucking air inside the trunk.

I dont think it will have much effect on the 2.5 motor. I have an open element air cleaner on mine and other than noise I don't think it does much, it looks good though.
