For those who don't remember, my dad gave me the car as a graduation gift from college last year. He bought it in 1988 or 1989 for a toy. For the past 6 years it's been stored at my parents lake cottage (50 miles from my house), just waiting to be driven. As luck would have it, I was required to attend 6 weddings last summer. Since the car was that far from home and my tools, it sat.
My friend is getting new tires today at the Tire Rack and he's picking up my tires and shocks while he's there.
Me and my dad drove to the lake to get the car last night and with a jump the car fired right up. Got it on the highway and remembered real fast how badly I need an alignment.
I got it home with no problems and when I was putting it away for the night the parking brake light came on- read about it in the technical section.
The plan now is to get it emissions tested, change all the fluids, including the brake fluid, get my tires put on, replace shocks, get an alignment, and a few other things. Depending on the outcome of the brake problem in the other section, I think I'll have the car on the road by the middle of next week.
I can't wait- it's been too long
