I have read that the lens is from a 747 wing(I think) light.
Don't kow how useful that will be.

I'd always heard the 747 wing light thing, too, but what makes me curious is that there are no amber lights on an aircraft... there's red, green and clear.

Was the amber one created from a mold made from one of these aircraft light lenses, or...???

Yep, it's true. The lens is from a 747 wing root landing light. The only place I can recommend to find them would be to find a place that sells aircraft salvage parts (Most will end up being in AZ and NV. I'll try to do some checking and I'll call a few friends that are still in the airline industry. As for the color, I guess you could use the lens as a mold to make a new one or find a way to tint it yellow. I'll get back to you when I hear something.

No it doesn't. You need to make that yourself. Also the scoop comes "closed" You will need to cut ot the face to make it functional.

If anyone has any luck with find the lights for this I am interested. I definitely want one for my clone but $600 is out of my range!

Hey all, i was the one to get the scoop, i screwed up on the bidding, i bid the "buy it now price" intending on ending the auction, but screwed it up and bid the normal way($650--buy it now price) anyway, i emailed tim and told him what i did, he ended the auction and i bought it for my bid price of $650. I'd like to thank Tim for doing this, very very nice on his part to do so, thanks again Tim.....
I thought i'd never find one of these scoops, it took quite a bit of convincing the wife to spend that much but finally convinced her!!!!

You're right songman, i can't wait to get it on the car, i think it will look GREAT!!!

Thanks Tim..Jim(2 '84 Indys)

Anybody have/sell the Fi-air-o scoops other than FOCOA?
I would love to put a set of those on one of mine!
