The movie was filmed here in Illinois. The car was auctioned off after the movie was done. I wouldn't have a clue how to locate it. Anyone have a VIN? If they make a movie here occasionally they auction the cars off at the end. There is a guy who bought the 50/51 Chevy used in a Steve McQueen movie. (Forgot the name, he played a bounty hunter named "Pappy Doyle") The guy had it in his Restauraunt in Oak Lawn, IL many years ago.

I know where that Ferris Bueller Fiero is, it's resting peacefully in Victorville, Ca. I know because, while I was in the Marine Corps stationed in Hawaii, they have a "Hollywood Hot Rod" show every year on the island of Oahu. The guy that had it was from Victorville. He said he paid only $3,000.00 for it. The car was originally borrowed from a car lot in Calumet City? After it registered a mear 6 1/2 miles on it, it was auctioned. This guy bought it, loaded it on a trailer and it has never seen the road at more than 1MPH since. The guy's name is Gary DeLarson(pretty sure).

There were two Fieros. The shots of the Fiero in the driveway above were actually shot on Country Club Drive (between Terrylynn Place and Marion Way) in Long Beach, California. That was the California Fiero. It was famous. The shots of Jeanie driving the Fiero at school were filmed outside Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois. The "Chicago" film crew found a matching Fiero at Levin Pontiac in Chicago Heights, Illinois (near Calumet City) and "borrowed" it for one day. It was not famous.
Hey Kenny and Haagster, I didn't know there was anyone on here from my area..I live in Akron..do you guys know where there are any junkyards that have any Fieros?? I have looked all over the place and found 1 and it was totally stripped to the frame..Oh.wheres there a place to get a wheel alignment? everywhere I have went they wont touch fieros..they say they can't align them and I need to take it to a pontiac dealership and get it done

I went to school in Doylestown (20 years ago). Haven't lived there for probably 15. Sorry, but the last time I was in the area, I had to ask directions about Montrose (used to be a drive-in theater and little else). I couldn't get around Akron University because they closed Buchtel Avenue (it was opened when I was a student there). As for junk yards, the ones that I used to hit all of the time (couldn't tell you about any potential Fieros) were Kenmore Blvd heading toward Barberton, Eastern Road in Doylestown, Rte 604 south of Rittman, and one down the road from Barberton's drive-in theater (if it's still there) (Cleveland - Massilon Road). The best one though, was right off of Rte21 in Massillon. It was a little far to drive, but THEY always had what I was looking for - But then again, that was years ago. Sorry...

Is Dorlos Pizza still open in Ashland? They were the WORST pizza in the world back in the 80s. A friend (who worked at Will Research) took us to Dorlos for their "all you can eat" pizza. 1/2 slice was more than enough.

Oh and the Drive Inn Theater in Montrose no longer exists either.....progress 'eh lol
Like I said, it's been a while since I was in the area... I went to school with one of the Beehite (sp?) kids, and that yard was in bad shape then. The yard by Magic City used to be a pretty good source for Rustang parts (friend had a '71 back then). I did see all of the new construction (ok, new to me) around Montrose the last time I was there (3-4 years ago). I remember going to the old flea market at that drive-in when I was 5 or 6 years old. Now, I couldn't recognize the place... Like you say, progress.

Hey ProudGT, Thanks for clarifying things a little but this guy insisted that the one he owned was the Illinois Fiero, and he displayed it along-side the original Blues Mobile and the car from Beretta at that car show I was at.

Hey kenny86GT. You mentioned the guy also had "the original Blues Mobile" In Ferris Bueller's Day Off, there were only two Fieros. In the 1980 Blues Brothers there were 13 Dodge Monacos . Just like the Fieros in FBDO, there were "Chicago" Bluesmobiles and a "California" Bluesmobile. The 12 "Chicago" cars were crashed and smashed so often only one car with the best bits/pieces was shipped to the soundstage in California to join a 13th that was only a shell. During the Shopping Center filming, 5 Bluesmobiles were completely destroyed and were left to go to the landfill along with the remains of the Shopping Center. There were more than 200 cars that never saw the end of filming in Chicago, mostly fake City of Chicago Police Cars. These were all hauled to a junkyard in Hammond, Indiana and crushed. There are about 60 Bluesmobiles claiming to be "the original" but only one that could actually make the claim, now lost after being sold by a guy named Jim Post. They were thinking for Blues Brothers 2000, and that "official" Bluesmobile is at Universal Studios. Didn't mean to change the subject of this thread, but couldn't help but make the reply.

ProudGT... Didn't say he HAD the original, just said it was parked next to what was supposed to be the original. The Blues Mobile was owned by some other guy. And he had some pics of it setting on the lot at Universal. Granted I can't vouch for his integrity, all I can say is that I saw these two cars and I just assumed they were IT! But I really do appreciate the Film and TV trivia. I love that kinda stuff.
