Pontiac made a prototype one awhile back. It was gold and had 2 "humps" behind the seats headrests. I seem to recall reading that the replacement for the decklid/rear body was actually made from aluminum!

This is the one listed above from Hannover imports... nice. Actually looks a lot like the pontiac prototype (can't find a pic handy).

I like it! but I wonder how much stability they lost by chopping the top off?

That's sweet Devotshka! The one Lui had was braced underneath and had a vent in the hood for cooling. Said he had no problems with it.

MinnGreenGT: Is this the one you are thinking of?

It sounds like what you were describing, it is made of aluminum body panels too. Ifso, the company that makes it is called GSR-USA, cost is less than $4000 when i spoke with them.

Thank's for the reply's:

Devotshka I really like that style, What I was thinking of was the ferrari 308 style. Something like if you took the center section out of the T-Top.

Thanks:

That red car was photoshopped, its wing was added in photoshop but the convertable part is real I think.

The word you wanted was TARGA. There's a few here, I'd post a new thread, they probably won't look here...

Heres another pic of GSR's roadster... this is the picture that made me hang up the phone when i was considering using someone elses design....yuck... the angle on the rust/red colored one hides it a lot better, but i can't stand the lines from a rear view... On an interesting side note, i called GSR a few months ago to ask about another part they sold, and their phone just rings off the hook now.... i guess i should be happy i didn't give them 4 grand
