I built a brand new house a year ago, anyway I had alot of Fiero stuff boxed and stored, well someone was looking for a fiero part and I new I had it, well as I was looking through 1 of the boxes I had tons of Pontiac Tapes which I purchased at swap meets in the early 90's, I started watching some of them, and low and behold "The 1990 Fiero" It's a tape made by Pontiac, in Pontiac showing them in a meeting, discussing how the 1990 Fiero GT will be assembled and they have a 1988 chassis sprayed white and they build the complete exterior of the car, thats right they bolt on all the complete 1990 body panels, it's fanatastic and it even show the dash (no interior) but a dash and the instrument pad, molded all to gether as one and the instrument pod is curved as the steering wheel shape, the tape is about 45 min. long and was a inhouse made tape at Pontiac, so there is no music or edited and kind of grainy at times, but it even has each engineer tell the (people in the meeting) how each part goes on during assembly and then putting it on! You can definetly learn alot from this tape like the following: The chassis was only lengthen by the rear impact bar frame horns The gas filler door was going to be open from the outside no more lever on the inside The upperrear quarter and the lower 1/4 quarter are molded into one piece like a (front fender) A double rear trunk area Theres just to many things to list! If any Fiero forum member is interested in a rare piece of history, just $25 that includes the tape and shipping.

It would be AWESOME if somebody could save the movie into digital format on the computer! My roommate could do it, but kind of a bass-ackwards way through the vcr to the camcorder to the computer.
Anybody have access to the equipment/software to do this? If not, I think I could fanagle my roommate into doing it...let me know!

I'm in the market for a new computer. I want to add a DVD-RW, maybe this is the perfect excuse.

Perhaps whoever buys it will be more willing to share the information, rather than hoard it...

I agree. Tapes may only be $3, but he has to take the time to make each tape. That ties up 2 VCR's for how long? So he sets them to copy when he leaves for work, that gets 1 copy per day done.
Of course, I think he could be a bit more friendly on price, but $25 is too unreasonable. Put them on eBay and sell 'em for $49.95 if you want to make a profit.

But there won't be an engineer describing and showing how it all goes together. With them showing the individual panels, it would be easier to make a body kit. I don't thonk that are going to let WCF dis-assemble the car.

I get blank tapes for under $1 and have a dual deck VCR for dubbing tapes. I can dub them at normal speed or at double speed. Give me a weekend and I can make dozens of copies for $25.
Hi fellow Fiero Forum guys, sorry just got back from a neighbors Daytona 500 party, I will give you my address on here and most fiero owners that know me, I don't try to offend or cheat anyone! What I'm doing is sharing info with fellow fiero owners and NOT TRYING TO RETIRE ON THIS TAPE! I'm just trying to be compensated for my time (I have a wife) the tape and shipping. Now if you just think about the time, not only copying it, but going to buy tapes, and going to the post office to stand in-line to pack and mail it. As for the other people that want to wait for Fieros West tapes "that's ok" and it will probably be real good, BUT this tape is SHOWING YOU as they put the 1990 Fiero Exterior completely together piece by piece! Just like I said I'm very trusting guy so, if you want to send a personnel check that is OK as well! Just make it out to the following:
John Podziemski 4343 South 38th Street Greenfield, WI 53221
You will not be disappointed when you see this!

How about this........just transfer the movie to a cd.......I can do it no prob. Only cost is a cd and the time you have to wait for it to copy. Willing to do it for whatever the owner of the tape wants to get out of it plus I would like $5.00 for my time.

Oreif, not only do you get to see the panels from the ouside, but before they put them on they show you the underside of the panel as well, plus they are in gray primer all the body panela except the front and rear fascias only half of them are painted the other half is clear you can see right through it it's unbelieveable Darklord, I won't sell the orginal copy because it wasn't supposed to be on it, you might be asking "Whats he talking about" It a Pontiac tape about the 1987 model year they talked about the sunbird, grand am, then the bonnivelle it just all of a sudden cuts to them starting to talk about the 1990 fiero, Pontiac that cheap to get a fresh tape! GTMike the engine looks like the standard V6 Fiero engine with the engraved intake, but could be a 2.8, 3,1, 3.4? They don't get into the engine it's all on the body panels and I think a Kit car guy can definetly can make some of the molds from this video they are up close through the whole thing and zoom in on fasteners they are talking about as well! MELJOHNSON, it's in a grayish primer!
I have 8 guys that are interested anyone else, I sent my wife to go buy some video tapes and I'll start tomorrow, so I can send them out once I recevie your funds, don't FORGET to put your address with it!

Anyone who wants a DVD copy of the tape let me know.
I haven't seen the tape, but I would love to have a copy. Anyone who wants a me to make a copy of their VHS digital, just email me.
I'm planning on teleasing a Fiero Tribute DVD eventually anyway. I was going to include footage from the museum trip. With this 'new' tape that adds much more info.
Yes, I'm going to have a opening title screen and menu selection etc...

I'd advise making a digital copy before you get into running the tape over and over and over. It's gonna wear it out quick. With digital it won't get any worse. JM2C.
I stepped into a new era, I know longer have a VCR. So if anyone makes a digital copy lemme know!!!

Make a single copy of the tape, then make all the other copies from the 1st copy, and not the master copy. It will save wear and tear on the (old) fiero VHS tape. Just my opinion. (The quality won't suffer much. Besides, it is VHS format. So it is only so good to begin with.)
