I'm also interested in what it cost, if you don't mind sharing. I just recently broke one of my own taboos (installing a trailer hitch on a car) to help me move. I figure if I'm going to be moving with the Fiero every three months, I can't live like a minimalist forever...I can use all the storage capacity I can get.

Total price was around $540.00, I could've bought another Fiero! Since I don't plan on buying a larger car for a while, I needed to equip the Fiero so that it could transport some toys...

What's good is that the rack is adjustable to fit any car, so I can keep the rack for use on any other future cars as well.

Since the Fiero's roof line is short, there were two adapter's that I needed to purhcase:

1) a short roof adapter, kit #477, see
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1834588926

2) I will post the kit# later on tonite as I have the box at home.

I try to keep the speed limit while loaded, and any affects to handling are minimal.

Because the Fiero is only 46 inches high, it's relatively easy to load and unload the bikes.

Nashco,

THULE does sell hitch-mounted bike racks, I've considered going this route also...

I work at REI in Cary, NC and we are a Yakima and Thule dealer. I called Yakima and asked if they had any feet that would fit the Fiero and they said they used to make one. I'm not a huge fan of Thule, but I have been thinking really hard about Pro Dealing a rack. Its either that or get an inch and a quarter reciever hitch. That setup doesn't look too bad, maybe I'll go ahead and get it. In addition to the 400 Aero Foot, you'll need the 477 Short Roof Adaptor, the 9 Fit Kit, and of course the Crossbars. If you really wanted to save some money and were only using it for short trips with bikes, you could probably skip on the 477 Short Roof Adaptor and just have a narrower crossbar spread.
