It's all painted, with spray-can heat paint from Canadian-Tire, except for the tops of the valve covers and the plenum. There I took alot of fine wet-sand paper on a wood block to achieve the shine. I then used polishing compound on a towel to finish the bare aluminum. I have a new Rodney Dickman "Fiero GT" decal for the top of the engine.
I used: -CanadianTire 500+ degree black engine enamel -CanadianTire 1200 or 1400 degree aluminum manifold paint -Canadian Tire "Ford Engine Block Red" (don't flame me) 500+ degree engine enamel for the valve covers and plenum.
I used the "Ford-like" Color because it was VERY close to the factory orange/red, and all I could get in a GM color was red or orange.
I'm not sure if they have metallic paints or not. For some reason I think they might have silver and gold. I know they have metallic rim paint, but that wouldn't withstand heat very well.
