After dealing with Fiero people for 2 years I got stiffed by a guy in Miami who claimed he still had a set of 2.8 heads ported, polished, 3 angle valve job, new springs, seals etc, still in the plastic and had no use for them.
$220 price was too good to be true. Took almost 5 months for the guy to send them to me after he claimed he had been in a motorcycle wreck. I thought I was being understanding.
When they finally showed up they were not wrapped in anything but thrown into an oversize cardboard box and had banged around on each other on the way to Indiana. I didn't even have to open the box just reached in and picked one out of the whole it had made in the box during shipment.
Took them both to my local machine shop as they just did not seem right and guess what? Just a plain old valve grind! No porting, polishing, no new springs, seals or triangle job. Even some of the valves were ground too thin.
I emailed the guy and he claimed that the shop had always done the work for him was never a problem. I offered to send photos to prove my claim.
The last I heard was he was going to take his receipt and talk to the owner. That was in early June and I have had no further response from Mr. Sybliss.
I think I ran across him on Fiero Net so if anyone else does watch out you may not get what you thought you would.

We all sometimes lose money but most of us I think stick with the deal we commited to and do what is right. At least that's what I strive to do anyway.
We all learn from our mistakes sooner or later and hopefully improve the situation so that it does not occur in the future.
If I can make a little to support the hobby or help a fellow Fiero enthusiast out that's all I'm out to do.
Not stick it to someone.
I do have to admit that I have purchased and sold several cars, parts etc. on ebay, Fiero Net and this site and have encountered some pretty sincere and honest people. This was a first for me.

They are out there. I am an honest and patient person. I sent some part to another forum member on trust and haven't heard from them since. I know things happen, but I fell a person should a least explain their situation if one exists. I am still waiting to hear from this person as he won't answer any e-mails or pm's.+

In my opinion we need a bulletin board where we can post deadbeats that don't pay or don't deliver what they say they are going to deliver. This board should also include space for their response, but at least we would all know those persons whom were suspect. I think I will suggest it to Cliff........what do the rest of you think? Opinions PLEASE !

That just sucks. I don't know why Fiero owners have to stick it to each other sometimes. I'm very glad you brought this to everyones attention. You should probably expect some backlash from some of the forum members though. For some reason there are a lot of people in this forum that dicourage others from telling of bad dealings with other forum members. I really don't understand why they discourage this because it saves people from making the same mistake with a dishonest forum member. I, myself, know a forum member that has "borrowed" money from another forum member 2 years ago and still hasn't payed it back. I'd like very much to warn everyone about this person but i don't want to have a big backlash myself, especially when i'm not involved in the actual dispute. Oh well, i'm sorry to hear you lost money from some theif but i'm glad you warned us.

I agree, a seller rating system of some sort just to keep people notified of who's ligget and who's not. I got hosed on ebay back in feb on a dashboard and I'd like everyone to know who it was and what the circumstances were.

That is the email address I had from all the corespondence and I beleive what came from the Net but this was from an original post back in December of 2001 so I'm sure it's dropped off by now.
Sent my payment and check cleared my bank on 1-17-02 I received the so called performance heads in late May or early June. Along with a late consolation of a radio face plate painted black with the corners reformed and drilled with bumper epoxy. That really goes good with the stock dash.
What I really think happened is that if the heads did exist someone else got them and I got these thinking that I would not notice. I just had a set done my a local machine shop and know what is done and what it looks like.
I hope that when we get a good deal it does not turn out like this! I just bought an 88 Formula on ebay that has a miss and may need an engine but the price was more than fair. Good thing I have a spare engine. I'll probably get the car and the suspension will be messed up or something else. I just call it Murphy's Law....Right?
There are some honest people around. There are also some less than honest. Several people on here owe me money dating to transactions over the past 12 months. Its not a lot, I think I'm out about $150 total when shipping is added. Its a chance you take when dealing online. Last weekend I met up with a forum member in Ann Arbor, MI(I don't recall their forum name) and dropped off a pair of H.O. heads fully machined, new springs, etc, etc, for $100. Deal went fine, and as far as I know, the new owner hasn't had any issues with the heads.
