Archie, somewhat off-topic question, but here goes...
what headlights do you use for the Finale? I talked with a guy named Dan at Pisa several years ago when the Finale first came out in the USA, and he said they were just switching from Camaro lights to Dodge Caravan ones... are those still being used?

The lights come with the finale kit.
Up until now we've been using the Caravan lights also. Just today however we began working on fitting the lights from the '99 Grand Am. If we can make them fit and work properly we will start using them real soon.

Daytona is only SEVEN days away! How's the Fino coming along?

The clock is always ticking....that's the problem.
Back on the 5th of this month (page 2) I made the following statement "That brings me to the sad news, we've determined that this Fino might not be done properly in time for Daytona. Our estimates show that we will have only 3 or 4 more full days before the Daytona show that we can devote to this car. I know we will have the body & Video Instruction tape finished well before then but the final paint and finish work will not fit into the time I have available."
Since I made that post we've only worked on the car a few hours. In the last 8 days, we've shipped 3 Fino/Finale bodies and about 10 V-8 kits We've been so busy trying to get everything at the shop so that we can take a few days off to go to the Daytona show.
When I originally planned to build the car in time for Daytona, it looked like we had plenty of time. But we got very busy all of a sudden and the customer cars and orders always are more important and we put our time where it belongs.
Sorry to disappoint, but we do the best we can.
We will keep posting to this thread as we have time to make more progress.
I'm enjoying this thread. It gives a good account of a build-up. After going through one project like this, it's good to see a clear account of what is really involved. You will, of course, leave out the countless hours of blocking that gives it the professional look. That tends to scare people off! However, it's sure worth it in the end. Keep up the photos, I'm always looking for my next project!

Got back from Daytona at 3am Tuesday and was in the shop by 9am. Have not done any of the resting up yet.
We have a PFF member/Customer who met us back here at the shop and we are installing an LT1 into his automatic F-40.
Many of the cars that I build and post up inprocess pics are cars that I own, and we can only work on those when we don't have other commitments to customers.
This Fino, The JPT Drag car, The V-8 Indy Car $4K V-8 swap car, The 84 FWD V-8 Olds Cutlass wagon & The Stick shift V-8 Drag car are all projects that are waiting for us to return to them.
We will have some more time later next week and I promise that this Fino project will be the first one in line for completion.
Thanks
Archie

I wish you would get back to finishing the Fino instructions video. I want to get my car finished as soon as I can. I am to a point I can't go any further.
You know, I really like the way the back half of the Fino looks, but I think it would be better if the large "humps" over the front wheels where flattened out and a pop up headlight system were put back in, then it would be perfect. Well, for me anyway..
Looking good so far!
