...or crotchbacks? I personally like notchbacks- I love the look of the formula w/wing . But, nobody else that I know likes them at all. I bought a fastback so I didn't get any flak, but are there any of you who think they're ugly? Just randomly curious.

Can you seriously look at this notchback and think it looks bad??

I like both notchback and fastback, I mean a fiero is a fiero

I prefer the Notch back, All the imports seem to have fastbacks, from the 240Z on up.
(It IS personal taste isn't it?)

I agree with you Savagery, I love the look of the notchback, given the choice, I would take a notchback GT in a second. When I first started getting into Fieros, I was all for the notchback and hated the look of the fastback. But its grown on me and I think they look just as beautiful, but the notchback is still the one for me =)

I like Fastbacks more. But i own a notchback simply because i got a good deal on it. If i had the choice to trade my 88 coupe for a fastback i would do it

I prefer the fastback, much sportier look. However, black and exotic color notchbacks are also nice.

Notchbacks look SWEET with allum. wings, but, otherwise? I prefer a GT

I like both, for different reasons.

The notchback style looks more like fun, more like a car you'd go out and have fun with. It's also more unique, and is more recognizable as a Fiero.

The fastback looks more formal, more like an exotic.

So, I have a fastback that I take to shows, and a notchback that I drive every day.

Like them both, but I think the notchback looks sharper. The lines of the car just look cleaner.

Notchback. I don't like the fastback. I also don't like the aero-nose on Fieros. I really like the bumper-pad design. But, I like my formulas styling the most.

I like them both, but of the five Fieros I have owned, all of them have been notchbacks.
Would like to have a fastback, sometime. Thinking about converting my Formula.

LOL.. this topic keeps on coming up

I spent about 2 years shopping for a Fiero before I got one.. I liked the fastback first, but the more I looked, the more I liked the notchback. I wound up getting a notchie.. The bonus was that I saved a bit of cash since coupes go for less than GT's

I prefer my notchback Formula (no bias here!). Seriously, I do prefer the fastback styling slightly, and would have bought a GT had I found one in good shape back when I was shopping (over 5 years ago).

I do like the notchbacks a lot too. I have had a couple people tell me they didn't like the styling, but my Formula gets tons of looks on the road, and I have had people walk up to compliment it, pull up at a light to compliment it, and even gas statuion attendants have come out of the building to do a walk around. The notchback styling must be doing something right!

I have a notchboack and would be lying if I said that I think it looks as good or better than the fastback. The fastbacks are so rarely seen around here, but the notchbacks are a known car that most people think is "a death trap". People don't even know what a fastback is. They probably think its a Ferrari or something. I am going to convert my little 88 coupe to the fastback styling as soon as I get a good deal on the parts. I still love the notchback and wouldn't have bought it otherwise, but MAN I LOVE THEM FASTBACKS.

I am sure you would prefer to have a notchback when you are leaning down into the engine compartment trying to get an exhaust bolt out.

Any Fiero is great, but I must love notchbacks since I just bought my fifth car.
Favorite body style in order of preference 87-88 Coupes and Formula, fastbacks with Formaula fascia and no ground effects( or Formula with fastback clip, SE's, fastbacks and then bumper pad 84-86 notchbacks.

I like the notchbacks. They are unmistakably a Fiero. I brother is always being asked what year MR2 or 240 or 300 ZX his car is.

I like both models actually, but I do have a thing for the notchback. The cars with the fastback clip looks kind of chubby from some angles, but still a good looking car.

I've been into Fiero's since I was 11, comin up on 9 years now, and I gotta say notchback. More specific, '85 GT and '86 2M6. Screams Fiero, and nothin looks cooler than the butt end of a NB with the solid taillight section, GT bumper, and those 4 stainless megaphone tips rumblin' away. I searched for 8 months for an '85 GT in Atlanta, even passed up a Formula, and bought a crappy, nonrunning '85 GT 2 years ago. I still don't have it running right. I still don't have it painted. Or lowered. The headlights don't go down. The A/C doesn't work. The headliner massages your hair in the breeze. Hell, half the gauges don't work. But she's my '85 GT, my nothing-says-'80s-like-a-notchback bundle of joy, and I wouldn't trade her for a lifetime supply of Skittles. 'Nuff said.

EXACTLY how I feel. Since I was young, I always loved fieros but never even knew fastbacks existed. The first time I even saw one was when I was searching for fieros to buy. IMO, the notchback is more distinctive because that IS the fiero. A profile view of a fastback looks a lot like most other cars (really sweet, though...). I think the only way to go is to have one of each. I would love an 84 2m4 4spd just to cruise around in... and my 88 GT to haul a$$!

I personally like the notchbacks better than the fastbacks for one simple reason I can't stand the euro-trash tail lights. now if there was a kit to put the notchback taillamps on the fastback wow that would be a car.
