Myself being younger than most here , Im curious, what does the audio setup sound like in a Fiero? (Ill be listening alot, and loud too when I get my first Fiero ), i've seen the subs behind the seats but it doesnt look right, I mean doesnt the seat block out most of the sound? If anyone has this tell me what its like... I also seen the sub beetween the seats, which looks kicks ass mind you, and where would be the best place to put the speakers? and the amps for the sub(s) aswell. (sorry for this noob question) Thanks alot......

I cnat get the sub box to load, but its pretty good. Im gonna get an Aus center sub consol when I move back to Australia, but for now its fine. LMK of you need any more help. Cheers, Pat.

I have MTX's in the sail pannels and they're absolute rubbish. Dont wast your money on those. But I hear good things about polk audio(I think thats it) But its worth replacing every speaker in the car, then the sub. But any size in the passenger footwell will sound awsome.
i took out my spare tire and dropped in a bass cannon with a jensen 800watt amp,it sounded really good and it confused all the people who r use to the boom coming from the trunk.just sold that set up cause i was saying "what" about a 100 times a day cause i was going deaf

I have worked out a way to make a 12" sub fit between the seats now. I am now trying to decide wether to put it there or behind the passenger seat. The 700 watt 12" should go well with the top of the range pioneer 150 watt 6" splits and the 150 watt Clarion 6X4"s I just bought. You don't have to be young to like feeling your music. Hey what am I talking about. I am not exactly old.
I put 2 - MTX 10's behind the seat with a 1500W RMS MTX Amp running the subs, a 200W 4ch MTX running the front 5 1/4 2way comps & 4X6 2way plates in the back. It will make your vision blurry!!! tested at 146db Looks Good Too I have done 2 other cars like this, & have two more to do in the near future. LMK what you think!

i wanna know how difficult it was to make those boxes and how much legroom you lost if you have detailed instructions on the construction of these boxes id greatly appreciate them im currently thinking about the center console sub but i would like to have a sub bigger than a 10 if i can
I did something simple and cheap. I just used a pioneer DHP-4400 a 10" alumipro and a 900 watt Interfire amp. The alumipro was kinda expensive but hitsas hard as 2 rockford 12's and with cleaner bass. I had to put it where the passenger's feet would go so it took up some room but most of my friends didn't mind because it sounded good. The only reason I bring this up is because it was rather cheap to do compared to some other setups I have seen for the fiero. I think it ran me about 800. The alumipro cost 400 bucks but you cant beat how hard it hits for only a 10. Well good luck -Chris
Yes, they make 4"X10" and 3-1/2" speakers you can crank, but you have to spend some money to get them and then put an amp to them. Try Kicker, they love lots of power and they rock. Bass is low frequency, so mounting them behind the seats don't muffle the sound nearly as much as you think, but mounting a sub in the center console is good too. More visible and prone to theft though. I've seen Wheels1's system and it's sweet. The way he has it setup, you don't lose much seat travel at all. Do a Forum search on stereo, there is lots of info available.

Originally posted by Wheels1: Searcher, here are a few pics of the set up. theses are pics of my 84 SE. You can put 12" behind the seats but you need to look at the CF of the sub. (cubic feet) The 10" I used only need .6cf of space (sealed) Some 12" need .8 to 1.0cf with this much space you will need to make the box bigger. I have the box set up at 18"W X 20"L X 2 3/8"D. So you only use about 2 1/2" behind the seats. You could do 1- 12" behind the pass side & put the amps behind the drivers side. LMK.. I can send you more pics if you want. Thanks Chris. You start with this. Takes about 2hrs.
Pass.side cut out & foamed.
Sub being tested to fit.
Cont:.......
This is looking down from the back window.
Boxes covered, amps mounted, wiring started.
Done....
Takes about 4-5 days at 4hrs an evening working on it. But when its done, you wont want to get out. It sounds great at low volume also. Thanks, Chris.
