At a show i saw a fiero that had the bottom part of the vents taken off. looked good and seemed like it would help alittle with cooling and cleaning. is there any down side of doing this?

Only real downside is debris/water falling into the engine bay. You should always check for leaves/pine needles, ect. falling onto the exhaust manifolds. I did this once on one of my GTs and the leaves fell on the forward exhaust manifold and it caught fire. I put it out quickly though, no damage done. I take all of my 'bottom parts' of the decklids off and replace it w/a wire mesh....much like on the 85s.

NICE Vents. Where did you get those from? A lot like Skitime's but I don't see a seam in the middle. How'd you do it?

The seam is there, I just got far enough away so that you couldnt see it. As for how, you cant weld or braze the ones from the Notchbacks. I use fiberglass resin. It will hold to just about anything if you scuff it up with 80 grit or something close to that.

This is the only one that I have, sorry I wasnt thinking I thought it was an original idea, I guess I was wrong. I just used the vents from a spare SE and cut them the way that I wanted and used fiberglass resin to put them together. Just an idea that I have had for a year now.

I glued another piece of fiberglass under the edge and the vents had a lip on them and I spot glued it in for now. I have something else planned for it but it is some time away. BTW I used fiberglass resin to glue it together...
