Have you seen those Lamborghini Diablos built in Saskatoon? Are they as good as they say?

Yes I have! Actually, the guy I bought my car off is the guy who builds them!
When I am cruising on the main street, I often here people tell me about this Diablo that they say, they are awe-struck when I tell them it is a kit for the same car I am driving!
My car was going to become a Diablo kit until he realised that the T-Tops are rather rare, so he sold it.... to me! And I am have been happier since!
These kits are exact! He showed me his whole outfit, the decals are AMAZING! He had a kit sitting beside an original and I could not tell the difference! The website that you can find on kitcars.com say they have v8's in them, but most people who buy them tend to go for the 3.8 Series II SC engines. With the 3.8 he can get a rather authentic sound, but the V8, he had too many people comming up to him and saying how they knew it wasn't real because of the sound of the V8. So to make the kit even more authentic he went with the 3.8 for a lot of the newer ones.

Hey Soup, I should have known better because I remember now that they won the President's Choice at Knott's 2002 and was posted on the kitcar website like you mentioned. As of right now I have so many different paths I can take but if I go for a Diablo kit I'm definitely not doing the job, I would let them do it. A car like that needs to be assembled by pro's so you can make people drool! Thanks for the info.

Any new happenings with this topic? Has the guy sent any more information about when/where the kit will be made/sold? Does he have an email address we could flood with requests for him to make it? Is there a time frame for when all this would actually happen? Anyone on the forum have any other pictures of the car? (I would like to see the decklid of the Piranha with a glass cover built in, like a 360 Modena or Skitime's decklid.)
Bump.

Dang, if it takes too long to sell my car, I might keep it if things go well and that kit is around. I like that interior. That rear wing is a little different, but different isn't always bad.

This is the last reply I received from the guy for an update. I will send another inquiry. -----Original Message----- From: Juris Vecvanags [mailto:Juris.Vecvanags@vid.gov.lv] Sent: Monday, October 21, 2002 8:48 AM To: Gagne, Rich Subject: RE: [TechNet] Laura kitcar / Pyranha
Hello!
Things are not going so good as we wanted it.. L
Dont’know wat was happened, are they in vacation or in some exibitions, but they not answer to my e-mails. Still waiting some important answers from Russia...
If can’t finish planned relocation, we think to make our own variation of this kit. It close to Pyranha, but have some differences in styling to have on this design/kit our own copyrights.
Progress on it is in stage, that we hope to soon fnish drawings and start to make the bulk for molds! Anyway market will receive one of thoose kits( or probably both).
Timeline for our own kit is that upon all drawings and sizing completed(apox 2 weeks.) expected time for first prototype is 3 months. All progress and pictures will be posted to web.
Stay tuned!
Best regards,

Its not looking very good right now. This is the most recent info. I keep emailing.
If I would have known it was going to be like this I would not have posted it.

Hello!
Don’t know what was happening with that compay, but they no longer answer to our e-mails.
I think that we can’t finish the deal with them L ..
Currently we are working on our own prototype car and don’t have time to deal with partners who actualy seems not want to cooperate.
Pictures will be posted to Web as soon we will finish the prototype.
Some info:
Kit will be based on the same wheelbase as Diablo, so the chasis we build will be usable also for Diablo builders.
Body - redesigned Diablo. Time will show what will can be ‘cooked’J
I know this is an old thread, but I have to ask: Am I the only one who's noticed how much the Piranha's dash resembles the 3000GT/Stealth dash? I would almost bet that's what it is. Comments??

Nope. That's the first thing I thought when I saw it. And the controls on the door panels definately look like late model F-body controls. I must be the only one that likes the spoiler. I wouldn't change a thing.

Does anyone speak Russian and want to run up a huge phone bill? This kit is beautiful and if it were possible I would buy it, as would many others. I think if someone would go through lengths to get the molds imported, that person would be in a profitable situation. Anyone up for the task?
