That is a great looking project. I love the look of the fastback style convertable. The northstar in the trunk is a nice touch as well

Well, I was looking at that, and I thought, "That's a beautiful car, it would make a great wallpaper." So I did. Hope ya don't mind. It would have worked better if those pix weren't GIF's. You can see it here: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/023138.html
I didn't do the best job on it though. Nice ride, again. I wish I had some money to spend on mine.

Great job! Is it a roadster or convertible? Are you using the stock Caddy computer and converted wiring harness?

Again, well done,

How in the hell did you afford to do something like that. It must have cost a fortune. That car is amazing.

That's hands down the best looking convertable/roadsterized Fiero I have ever seen. I'd like to set this as my background. Is there any way you could get some real high quality pictures of that beauty?

That's one heck of a secret, Ronnie! I don't think I'd have been able to keep that a secret for two seconds! As everyone else has said, best looking Fiero convertible I have seen... and a Northstar to boot! Hope I get to see it in person someday...

Who did the N* converstion? Automatic? Stick? Is that an Automoda convertible converstion?

I always thought the GT's made the best looking convertibles. The way the rear fender kicks up where the sail panel used to be fits the lines better than the notchbacks straight lines.

Looks Awesome!

OK OK OK. Been at work all day. Boy at the hits!! Thanks for all the compliments!! First , to clear things a bit. I did not do any of the conversion or swap , I just traded for the car this past weekend, as you see it.The guy that had it did ALL the body , fabrication , and engine swap himself!
He even had tried a Turbo on it, which is why you'll notice the extra (fried) motor hanging on the hoist.
The car started life as a 85GT , that he changed the rear to the later fastback GT tailights lid & fascia.
I've got to get the trans worked on , think it's a blown seal, but it is the Caddy auto overdrive unit.
The gages were all custom installed along with the pillar gages.
The top is homemade frame (removable, not retracting) with nice custom sewn fabric.
Wish I did have his expertise to do all that work!!
These are all the pics I have right now, sorry.
But anyway , it's mine now!!

Nope, Chris Moore had nothing to do with this car. But the guy I got it from is Chris Morris, from Hendersonville,NC, hence the N.C. plate. He's a paint & body man at a Cadillac dealership. Young guy in his 20's , but he's pretty slick. Very talented , I'd say
I think he & Chris have talked a few times, but don't think they ever met.

The convertible Fieros shown were prototypes that Pontiac made. There were three prototypes. One had a conventional folding top, one had the side opening engine cover, and the other had a folding hardtop. Pontiac still holds the patent for the folding hardtop. These photos and photos of other prototypes including the 89-90 Fiero can be found in the book "Fiero" "Pontiac's Potent Mid-Engine Sports Car" by Gary Witzenburg. I saw the book for sale on a link from www.cfog-i.com

The link is at the bottom left of the home page. Sells for $77
