Check this out... Back to the Future II. In the future during the hoverboard chase scene. Marty is being chased by Griff's 3 cronies and goes past the left side of the town hall. Right as the Jeep is landing. There is the car from "the last starfighter" and behind that an unmodified volkswagon, behind that a heavily modified ? (possibly another fiero) and behind that a car that I swear has the front end of an 89 fiero!. You can't see the whole car that well, but the front bumper with the 89's distinctive nose is very recognizable.
Anyone have the DVD to check it out???

I have it ripped on divx so heres 2 screenshots. Did anyone notice the GIGANTIC PONTIAC LOGO? =) More than likely that car is something Pontiac. And something prototype.
Maybe if there's anywayy to 'zoom' in on those pic's and clear em' up maybe we can see 'where' the headlight door's are located... Remember the 89' had the door farther up the hood and they were smaller too. hmmm anyone??

DANG! Does anyone else have the DVD of the movie, and a computer with a dvd handy?!? Most computers have a good "zoom" feature on the DVD software...then take a screenshot, and then post it!
how far into the movie is that scene? I'll do the screengrab tonight when I get home from work...

I've got it on DVD, but no DVD-ROM on my computer. I'm watching that scene now. The car is in three shots for about a second each, right as the jeep lands at 19:06, again at 19:22, and again at 19:30. There is a fourth shot between the 19:22 and 19:30, but the focus is on Marty in the foreground, and it's just a blur. The second shot has the best angle and is closest, so you get the best view. I can't zoom in, so I just have to guess, but the shape looks like it could be a Fiero.
I checked all the bonus features, and none of them mention any of the cars on the street.

Well, it may noy have been a Fiero, but films don't just get Pontiac symbols in them for no reason, and a Delorean is not Pontiac! I would venture to say that is a Prototype Fiero, possibly an '89.

It's quite possible the '89 prototype is in the movie. The Pontiac Banshee show car is also in the movie, I believe shortly after Marty buys the sports almanac. It's seen driving behind him and Doc Brown, if I remember correctly. I haven't seen the movie in years.
The main thing that tipped me off is on the nose it has the '89 indent around the corner. No other fiero model (or any other car I've ever seen) has that indent.

PS - That is a horrible divx rip. A movie of this quality should be two 690MB CDs in size, anything less and your chopping it up and pixelating it beyond belief. btw---that is a SMALL screen shot of my divx rip.

Now that I look a bit closer, anyone notice the red car in front of it? It might also be one-off Fiero. More wild of a change, but looks as it could be!

Holy Crap it Is the 89/90 Fiero!! At least I can say I stood on the same ground as the legendary Fiero Prototype. Awesome!!
Makes sense when you think about it. The Banshee was in there, the Pontiac logo is prominent and the movie was made in 1989. So the 90 Fiero protoype was fresh on everyone's mind. That scene may have even been shot BEFORE the Fiero was cancelled and they were actually trying to promote it.
Here is a quote from the Internet Movie Database (www.IMDB.COM)
"In 2015, several cars from other sci-fi movies can be seen, including a Spinner from Blade Runner and the StarCar from The Last Starfighter. Other cars seen are (highly) modified Ford Probes and Mustangs, as well as concept cars."

In 1997 I worked with the crew on the production of "Pratical Magic." My Fiero was parked on the set, (a 1988 T-Top coupe with factory wing.) however, at the last minute, they asked me to remove the Fiero because they did not want it to detract attention from the stars! They replaced it with a 1960s or 70s Chevy pickup instead. Grrr, I wished they would have left my Fiero in the picture... Oh Well S.Williams 1988 Fiero
