Well word is. .... ...

update for 2/9/03

As a lot of you know one of my missions this year is to get this car to the 20th Aniversary show.. There was a lot of RED tape to cut threw to make this happen. So working with my contacts at GM their question was if the upper brass at GM would allow this to happen... . and my contact's answer to his question was.."Looks like we're OK to do this.!" So I'm in the process of working out the details and getting things schuduled and how many prototypes will be there.. So as soon as things are more concret I will post them..
So if any of you were debating on missing this show. .. . .. better think twice. ...it's gonna be good..!

to answer a couple of questions.

RWDPLZ- As in More than ONE
"Yes MORE than one, there is
only one 90 but there are others
in the warehouse and I need to
find out what all is there.
I know they have No.1 the first
proto type. Also working on
getting that one there too.
There is a Twin Turbo model that
never made production and some
Four door versions.

GTjeff
No I haven't found out what is
under the hood for a powerplant
but that is high on the list to
find out.

I'm all but sure I'll make it, but even if I do, MAKE SURE EVERYONE TAKES LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF PICS! We've all wanted documentation on these vehicles, now's our chance! Tech guys, pay special attention to the twin turbo's setup. It would be GREAT if we could replicate that or get ideas for new kits. LOTS of possibilities here!

This will give me a chance on practicing my hot-wiring skills...

Plan A: Once I back the fiero 90 proto-type up into your trailer Kameo, I'll honk the horn and you punch it.

Plan B: Or you could just steal the keys from GM & drive it to my house.

I will not be there, for I am too poor BUT, I do have to say that everyone that is going better take about a million pics of that car and the other ratities (if they show) and post them on the forum. In addition, if camcorders are allowed in to shoot the car, I would love to see footage, I'd pay for a tape/disc of the event! Lastly, Good job Kameo Kid! You truley are an asset to the forum-now all you have to do is talk Lutz into issuing the '90 for 2005 production so we can all buy them!

update 2/10/03

Talked to GM today and they we're talking about bringing TWO car carriers of Fieros, YES I SAID TWO !!!! I don't know what all they have yet but i'm dieing to know..
Just want to tell ya something else he said too when we were talking.. When the plant closed that built the Fiero there were alot of politics going on and that's why it was said "I don't want to see that car in public", speaking bout the 90 proto by a top exec at GM. So they now feel that TIME has healed the Hurt, that is why the cars are coming out and when my contact started talking about two car carriers I was like
"OH YEAH !!!!" So now hold on kiddies... there may be a second site very close to the hotel where the show (judged car show for the Fieros on sat may be held) on GM grounds which sounds really good. There are a couple of other people working on that deal, let's hope that goes through too. If so I'm thinking these guys are going to roll out the Fieros... .. Once the details are worked out we will let ya know..!!

Yes, in storage. They didn't even let it out for the Pontiac anniversary a while back, so we think this is the first time it has been out of their sight. Ever.

Kameo, that's the greatest news! I just found out it's kinda hard to type when one's jaw is on the floor.

I believe something like 9 to 11 cars will fit on a carrier, but Fieros are small, so...

KameoKid....not that I doubt you or anything, but what is the nature of your contacts within GM? How is it that you know whom to contact and how do you have such influence?

No need to name names, and I'm not flaming you at all, but I'm sure many of us would like to know since we're all being set up for great expectations. I realize you can't guarantee anything (GM can always change their mind) but you sound very confident that the 90 and others will be there and I'd like to understand how valid those claims are.

Everybody of course is hoping that you'll pull through for us!

GM better be careful with that '90 proto. I envision... late at night.... AUS and Smooooth sneaking in and taking splashes of the car. lol!

Way to go Kameo... Thanks for staying with this! Wish I could '+' you some more!

I think this is definately worth making the 27 hour trip for. I was going to take a little vacation that way this summer anyway to Kitchener. So this works out good, it's only 3 hours from Kitchener.

I'm 90% sure I'm gonna go!

Those claims are made because I talked to the guy who has charge of the 90 and all the other Fieros in the Pontiac division. Also my contacts there have talked to upper brass at GM who are allowing the cars to come out. I'm not naming any names because this got screwed up once after the info was giving to people putting things together for the show.. So if I tell you that the cars will be there "THEY WILL" barring any change on GM's end of this. That's why I've been working on this again and alone. GM also doesn't want to deal with more than one person on this, there too busy and I don't want to piss them off. So since I found this car I'm doing my best to bring it to the Fiero community to see also. I'm not full of $hit and don't lie to anyone. Bottom Line.....When you have favor with the Man upstairs. ....All things are possible. There are people working as I type on getting a GM facility near the hotel for the show on saturday, if they pull that off then I think you will see many Fieros, if the show is at the hotel on saturday i'm not sure what we will get in addition to the 90,....Like I said, I'm taking GM's word on the fact that they want to do this for you and everyone else on the forum, and those that own a Fiero.. and that the 90 has the green light on being there! I will know more tommorrow.

I don't know if that is the exact picture, but it looks an awful lot like the one I took at a national Fiero show back in the summer of 1985.

The cars shown there (two convertibles, actual Indy, four seater, and bare skeleton) were shown, along with the Car Craft project car, a DGP Stage II prototype, and some other goodies that escape memory.

Kameo - you rock! Looking forward to this one. Hope it all comes together.
