Anyone have a close up pics of the 86 PPG Pace car? I never heard of this car until tonight when it was brought up in another topic.

From the FOCOA 1994 calendar:

PIP limits the size, so lots of detail is lost from the scanned 8.5 x 11 original.

It looks like a GT with a coupe back end, and the front looks like nothing I have never seen before, can you get this front end anywhere? Is the spoiler intergrated?

Until this was brought up in that other thread, I never knew these cars were so different. I'd be curious to learn more about them as well.

The type on the bottom of the photo say:"PPG Pace cars built on '86 GT chasis with complete body changes, turbo engines, special paints, special cast wheels. They were driven by young ladies, some of which were daughters of the race car drivers."

I never saw these cars personally, but I heard they were junked. I wish I could show a larger photo for the noses have a Pontiac style cut split grill cut out. There may be other photos of them around from '86 time frame, but I haven't seen them.

I'll have to go home to retreive it, but I have a pic of me (as a scrawny kid) looking at the PGG Pace Car that Pontiac had out for the 1993 FOCOA Nationals.

I wish I had known then what I know now about the car... I'd have taken a 100 pics of the thing!

...anyway- I'll see what I can find for ya'
