No it wasn't BS. All the cars in the holding yard was destroyed. I myself even mentioned at one stage I wonder what happened to the red one that you occasioanlly seen old pictures of. Guess we know where it is now.
Also I would love to have the larger version of all the pics for 2 reasons. 1. To do a magazine feature of the car in Pontiac Torque magazine. 2. Looking at the body at some of those angles I think an 89 body kit could actually be feasible and affordable.
Please tell us you got some inside pictures as my friend who took pictures of the prototypes in the holding yard cannot find his interior pictures.

I do believe that was the 89 proto, probably one of the reasons our cars are no longer in production. I believe they actually increased the wheel base and were moving into the firebird/camaro/corvette territory and GM did not want to destroy their established sports car line! That plus the fact that the Fiero was moving out of it's intended market and into a higher end market which would result in lower sales! That being said, shame on GM for killing one if not the best platform they ever introduced!

I have to agree with Archie.....Why would there be several proto-type cars from the 80's at a "streetrod show in Kentucky". show me some photos with a room full of street rods where you can see these cars also and I might believe it. Flame suit on........I consider myself a true Fiero Lover and I really don't like the looks of the 89, to much like a Firebird.

Some of yous thought they were all crushed? GM has warehouses the size of football fields filled with at least 1 of every concept or prototype car they've ever produced. They wouldnt crush them all.
Were you the one whom visted that place that designed the space frames and the guy gave you a stack of pictures? They said that the 89 was going to be a caryy over model with some minor trim changes and that was the 1990 model. Also a pic was posted of a primer black 90 GTP concept that they threw together
Not only was the 89 prototype longer, but it appears to be around four inches wider. Normally on a frontal shot you can see the tires, in this photo you can't because the front facia and fenders are wider. Also, the side pic clearly shows the door panels are wider. I'm not a fan of this design. Especially the side window treatment or the hugh looking extended rear bumper. About the only thing I do like about it is the elimination of the rub strip, the dual headlights, and the ground effects are more integrated into the overall design.
I don't know.....it could be BS, especially since looks like a showroom, and most summer hotrod shows are outside...
But I would hope against hope that this car was the real thing. IF it is, we have to start a nationwide hunt to find the guy who has it and get some info on it on this board!

6 odd angle pics? That's it? No nice full side or full 3/4 angle shots at all?
OK, well, if this IS real, then we should be able to contact the planners/events people of this show and find out more info about the cars inside including this Fiero GTA.
Kameo Kid, can you scan and post any type of show flyer and any other paperwork about the show/event that you have? That would be very helpfull
Steve

It looks like you could (and did) have walked right up to it .. got any interior shots?? What was the name of the show, museum, or promoters of this show? Give us some info to help track this puppy down! (PM if necessary)
(with Archie, looking for cheese ...)

For Archie and everyone I've been to this show in Louisville Ky. two years ago. Gm brings prototypes to the show to show what can be done. this show is more than just 15,000 to 20,000 street rods it is a complete vendor display as well.

You can read all about the show here http://www.nsra-usa.com/nationals2002.htm Its only one of the biggest in the country. It is very common for manufactures to have displays like this at the national shows. I guess you need about 5000-10000 post before people believe you If that is "cut and paste" you are very good! Thanks for the picture.

I'm not doubting that the pictures are real...........I'm just not sure they were taken last weekend by Kameo Kid. Let's see some of the other cars that were there. some shots with both street rods and the proto-types.....
