Well at least I got the "85" part right.
Let's see if I understand this correctly then, bumperpads on a 85 = SE, no bumperpads on a 85 = GT.
Right?

When did you start the mods?

Bought the car March of 2001, took it all apart,(painted suspension black that year)
new carpet, new gauges, custom seat covers, cross drilled rotors, bolted the V-8 in, swapped quarter panels, added scoop and painted it silver.

We missed the Dells that year by about 2 weeks.

Was driven all summer of 2001.

The following winter is was once again taken completly apart.
Feel free to call me a nut now

Powdercoated suspension was added, some body panels swapped, new and bigger engine plus nitrous, new rad and fan, front compartment redone, new carpet again, more gauges added, new steering wheel, visors, wind shield, all leather interior, more aluminium and chrome acents, hood vents, modified front end, different rearend (modified as well), Archie Brakes, new paintjob. (This time in House of Colors)

It actually did make it to the Dells that year, a day late,a bunch of loose ends including the rare "Coolant delete option".
(Only driving I did at the Dells was on and off the trailer)
Two or three weeks later it once again became my daily driver for the summer.

Made it to my second Fierorama,
fried the engine while there,
towed it back home and bolted the other 383 in for the rest of the year.

This year,
new engine... again
more gauges,
and of course a few other surprises.

There, I think that about covers it,
I am off to Yoga now.

Aura,... this years engine is still being built,
just dropped the heads off this afternoon
(spring replacement and a good looking over)
... Everything going to plan ... we will know some #'s after the dyno run on the 24th.

Last years never did make it to the track and the one from the year before (refered to as the plain Jane one) made it only once to the track.
12.9 at our first attempt.
Actually that should say my first attempt at drag racing, I was the newbie to racing not my engine

Anyways

Rollbar and new aircleaner came in this week.
Roll bar is a keeper,(thing looks brand new)aircleaner is going back.
(Not enough clearance or airflow)

Tina, I think you should start making copies of that roll bar before you install it. That way you can sell them to your friends on the Forum for a very affordable price!!!

I hear you guys ...

LOUD and CLEAR,

that thought already had crossed my mind,
even before I got a hold of this one.
As a matter of fact the plan was that once I was able to locate a "Mandrell Pipe Bender"
of that caliper (2 1/2 inch diameter is what the orginal is, and IMO that is the size it needs to be in order to look good) I was going to deliver a gutted Fiero there and let them make one from scratch.
I have yet to find one in my area.

For now the Roll Bar is getting installed though,
need all the help I an get at the Local World of Wheels.
Not too worry though
That does not mean
it is now cemented in and never to leave the interior of "The Curse" again.
(Only 16 bolts holding it down, and they are easily removed if need be)

Tina
BTW Good eye
The scoop is higher than normal.
Guy doing the bodywork came up with the idea to slightly raise it ...

Couple of pics of the latest updates

The new HEI

When things get a little on the warm side

Works like a charm

The new and improved Sandersons.
Since we needed to fix some cracks ,I thought I try a high temp poadercoat instead of the the Jet Hot (Never did hold up too well) I had before.

Ahhh yes
and heres the reason all of this accomplished rather than having fun driving it around.

Seems I sort of misplaced 2nd gear.
The trans going in this time around is a
5 speed Izusu out of a 98 Cavalier.
