Here is the Batmobile's taillight mods (lower right corner). Probably hard to see, but I also modded the front parking/turn signals from amber to clear. No, the car ain't done yet. Lots more to do.

I got it about 3 years ago from FOCOA, but I understand DGP don't make that style anymore. In fact, I bought one of the last ones that they had in stock, if I remember correctly. Besides, last I heard you can't ever get FOCOA to send anything anyway. It's cool looking and lots of people like it, but with my 2" drop, it's too low. I scrape it on every other driveway. It's only like 4" off the ground.

88GT, could you explain how you created the "mesh look"? Very subtle, nice effect!
it blast plastic Gutter Guard, i have a roll of it in my garage to do the sae mod after i pass inspection Since the lenses are 2 pieces he wraped the colored diffuser with a very thin black fabric then put the gutter guard between the ouuter clear lense and the diffuser, the clips that holds the outter clear lense on the rest are also holding the black fabric

anyone know where i can get one of those? or how i can make one?
Here is my subtle mod. I changed out the red plastic inserts for two stained glass yellow pieces, set in with silicone. It creates a textured look that is kind of cool, and a nice change from the usual red. And in 14 years, the glass has never broken. But now I am considering changing the color to cobalt blue.
I did this mod a few years ago. Just cutout a piece of the outer lens and sprayed the lights with a "darkener" But thats not all!
the first set is my backup set the second is on my car the third set will be on the GTR! In fact the custom rearend is 95% ready and this week I got a complete wiring for these lights. I will put them on within a week or so....
I've got a related question... for those with 'vette style taillights, how do you have them wired (stop & turn)? And what wiring did you use/not use or splice to accomplish this (assuming that the 'vette lights use a 3-wire connection)?

Yes they're for a prelude. BUT there's quite some modding involved. I had to cut some edges on the lights and because they are deeper than the GT lights the rearend has to be modified a lot. I happen to have a spare rearend (from the GT I crashed 5 years ago) so I can do no harm to my current Fiero. last weeks I already swapped over the new decklid and front lid, side scoops and skirts. But it is a lot of work to make your own designs and finishing them takes up all my spare time.....but I will have some neverdone mods on the GTR!
as for this taillights: at least one person beat me (a silver riced up GT), we must have had the same idea (exactly the same lights, but it still feels good someone else had the same conclusion on using the most suitable lights for the fiero). I bought those lights about 2 years ago (then they were hard to find around here)

OK I just got this car today, the Kid who had it before me did this:
he used some black vinyl to cover the lights. Looks much better irl. I might take the grill work out and use the lenses to get the colors and keep the round holes.

Well, I don't know who owns this car, but I'd love to see some completed pics of it.
*bump* someone must have completed pics of this or know something about it... how does the deck open... do the lights rise with the decklid or is it seperated at the lipped edge

Yes the light's are glassed to the decklid(all one piece)... Pat(Fibersmith) was going to develop this kit but there was not enough interest in it... Nothing ever came from this...

Do you have any pics of the lights installed on the car? I've wanted to do lights like MinnGreen's on my notchy for quite some time now but have yet to see it on a notchy. Thanks.
Also a question for ya MinnGreen, I know I talked to you about the whole making the taillights thing, but I was just wondering if you've ever had any problems with the cops for not having a reflector in the taillights? I was told by someone you have to have one for it to be legal. Thanks a lot and I'll see you at the 20th

wpg- two things... there are a few notchies like that (I made a set of those taillights for Yello86's car last year).
As for the reflector issue... the Fiero already has reflectors located in the lower rear fascia- so no problems there (unless you intend to remove or cover the existing reflectors down there).

actually around here i'm almost positive that you MUST be able to see red from the side as well. but we do have red reflectors on the side, so i think you should be covered then. but the cops around here seem like they are trying to stop cruisin and car modifying altogether, it's very aggravating!

Yeah, I thought about the rear bumper reflectors and thought that with those and the side reflectors it should be fine because you still have side and back red reflectors like the law says. Just wanted to make sure because like fierce said, the cops here seem to be trying to bust people for stupid **** just because they want to crack down on cruising and car modifying. It's just getting ridiculous when you can't drive through the park without being pulled over and having the cops measure how far your frame is from the ground.
Well thanks for your help guys and I look forward to meeting you at the 20th MinnGreen!
