I wanna come camping, but i'm going to the show with my mom lol. But she thinks it would be cheaper to use AeroPlan miles to fly and then rent a car and stay in a hotel then it would be to drive down and camp. So how can I convince her that there would be no hassle at the border with all of the camping stuff and that it would be cheaper? She also thinks our 96 Ranger might not be able to handle another road trip after we went to Calgary/Banff at spring break. Soooo i'm trying to convince her that we could pack it all up in the Fiero and drive it down there. She doesn't trust my car on the road trip either. Then there's the sell the Ranger and get a Vibe idea of mine she likes the idea of the Vibe, but doesn't want to spend even more money. I need your guys help! Thanks! Chris.

The border shouldn't be a problem. Just take a little time. Pack neatly and don't make any sudden moves 1900kms/1200 mi each way. Travel time is about 16 hours, will you need to stop along the way or can one sleep and the other drive? In any case, its going to be a long weekend... At 20mpg 120 gallons will be needed. Once you get into the states gas is cheaper. At $1.60/gal that'll be about $200 round trip. Try to hook up with the caravan from Chicago or closer to Winnipeg and your mothers confidence will increase-imagine, oh, I don't know, 10-50(more?) Fieros (and other cars) in caravan and the friendships will start to grow. $15/night camping (away from Smooooth... ) plus the entry fees and other sundries that you would spend anyway. So the total driving and camping is less than $300. How much would a hotel and renting a car be? $89/night for the hotel. $50/day for the car? I haven't rented a car in a while so thats just a guess. What about transportation to and from your airport? Good luck!

My reservation is in. I'm arriving Wed 7/16 (so I can do the track day on Thursday) and leaving Sunday 7/20.
They put a note in my reservation to group me with the Fiero people. It sounds like they'll sort that out when we get there. I also requested a bigger campsite since I'll be towing a trailer. Hopefully that doesn't mean I'll be stuck away from you all.
Another thing I haven't seen mentioned is that there is a $4 / day or $20 / annual "Park entrance fee" that is charged on top of the campground fee.
This will be fun.

It looks like I might be camping too. Only problem is that I will have my now 13 month old and 6 year old daughters, wife, and parents. So I can camp with you guys as long as it doesn't turn into an all night party, which would be fine with me. Maybe I'll just have to sneak out in the middle of the night and come party with you.

I hate you guys! Here I am imagining a Fiero party at a campground with bar-b-q and beer, and FIEROS of course. And all I can do is imagine. I hate being so far away and tied to work and family. I wanna go!!!
hehehe normally it wouldn't, but i'm only gonna be able to get to the show cuz my mom agreed to come so that kinda limits what i can do lol. It doesn't look like we'll be camping, i'm sure you guys will have a blast but my mom doesn't want to do all of that driving and thinks we'd have to stop a few nites on the way and camp and she just wouldn't want to have to stay in a tent. So I'll be staying in a hotel, not sure which one yet but i'm sure you guys will have lots of fun. Cheers.
like the sticker on my friend has on her rear window.. "beer, helping the white man dance since 1892"
Well i cant make it to the 20th i was talking to my dad about camping and i realized that i will be in mexico during it Oh well, i'll be having fun regaurdless, but i would still like to see those concept cars and not to mention a shitload of Fieros taking over Pontiac Michigan. Roll some good footage boys!

gotta get ahold of my friend who has my camera but i sure will i have a four day payed weekend and thats all ill be doing (nuthin better than getting paid to work on my Fiero)
anyhow look for an engine install thread coming to a PFF site near you soon!
