Pondski hasn't decided if he is going or not. The participant judging is sort of a factor for him. I'll work on him and try to get him out there though.
I'm registered! And I'm in for the caravan!

No. We figured it's going to be really hot to be driving around, and there is a lot to do in Vegas already. If you want to organize something, let me know.

Charles (the Ford guy) says there are 20-something already signed up. Normally, only 25-33% of people sign up in advance. We might have 50+ cars coming. It should be a good show, not bad considering we threw this together with only a month and a half to go before the show.

For any of you more Northern folks who want to caravan, I am actually meeting up in Barstow. I'll go through Mojave and be in Barstow by the time I could be in L.A. Tes, let me know when you think you guys will be hitting Barstow.
If any of you want to join me and leave Bakersfield early that morning to meet the caravan let me know.
fierobear, you are right about the desert heat for a cruise. Not sure how much scenery there is anyway. I used to go out to a Ghost Town about 30 miles out of Vegas and ride horses and stuff, but in the summer heat it is probably not a good idea.

Charles "The Ford Guy", huh!? I guess that's a good thing! anyways... As of tonite, there are in fact 22 people that have registered already, with the newest being a gentleman from Central / Northern Cali area, with a 4cyl, who unfortunately can't be there before Saturday morning, which is okay. There are actually a hand full of 4cyl I have gotten, so this may be a good variety.
I guess, John, you, I, and everyone that had input on the email we were sending back and forth deserves a MASSIVE cold beer!!! Or in your case, a MASSIVE Double Starbucks thingie!!! We'll see just how good we have actually done when it comes down to show time.
Also, for those of you who can use it. The woman and I are driving the F250 to Vegas, and I know that Fiero's have no space at all, so if anyone needs something taken up, we are more than happy to assist. Keith has already reserved his little corner for his chair, etc. However, there has to be enough room left for the BBQ and the Margarita machine!
There ya go John... I think that everyone that enters the show, and when we get there, those that think it actually turned out good for such short notice, should buy us a margarita each! Anyone think Dial-A-Ride would cut a drunk guy a deal from Vegas to L.A.!? Hope I helped make everyones weekend for the show.

Yeah, coffee. No, two coffees, one for each hand.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no margarita machine. The hotel will not allow *any* outside food or drink. Of course, you might be able to put it in someone's room...
We'll need your truck to haul the t-shirts. I plan to use the same place we did for the Truckee show, which is in Anaheim.

Well, let's hope all goes well.

That's fine. I mentioned to Chris S. before too, that since we are going that way, if anyone has a fiero that they can't drive, or don't want to drive, whatever, and they have a trailer, or want to rent one, I'd be more than happy to do so, depending on if Chris West drives his or not, and/or takes the coach or not. Otherwise, I'm up for everything!
Wait a minute.. We are going to Vegas.. Being "Up for everything" may not be a good thing, huh!?
Hey, glad you can make it. It will be nice to see you again. Are you bringing the N* convertable?
Any chance you can drag some other Colorado folks with you? Klingon, perhaps?
I take it that this is the gentleman that registered this morning from my old neighboring city of Greeley!? If not, then we have someone from Colorado that just reg'd! BTW: We are now upto 23 registered cars or all shapes, sizes, and years!

That's a good preregistration number. Last year (Truckee/Tahoe), we had less than 20 preregister, and over 40 cars were showed, and 10 or so more cars dropped by. We should have a good turnout, especially considering the circumstances.
Charles, one thing we forgot to do was have a "Display only" catagory. No entry fee, no prizes, but no judging. It's a way to encourage people to have their car on the show field, but they don't have to worry about judging. We should do that.

First and foremost this *BUMP* goes out to you all Fiero owners out there!
Second....fresh of the press re: the planned caravan leaving from southern Cali is as follows:
1. We will be meeting at a mutually convenient venue off of the 10EAST FRWY somewhere past El Monte (I will notify all participants as to the exact exit and spot at a later date).
2. Meeting time is scheduled between 6-630AM
3. We head out of L.A. and meet with other more northerly folks like "Songman" in Barstow approx. 930-10ish ...(Songman will notify me at what off-ramp to exit off of in Barstow to meet with him and his crew).
4. After a quick snack/breakfast we will all depart from California and attempt to reach vegas and the hotel by 12PM.
What do you all think??? Please contact me @ (310) 686-0956 or email- Tessemaf@msn.com if you want to participate in this entourage...thus far I have confirmed 10 cars in this convoy.
I strongly encourage more southern folks from San Diego, Anaheim etc...to attempt to meet with us...so feel free to contact me, Don't forget "THERE IS STRENGTH IN #'s...not to mention technical know-how" Chris from WCF and his gang of merry men OOoops! Tech's! in addition to Fiero-Doc Keith are a part of this convoy so personally I feel secure that if any car's die these guy's will be at hand to assist (-:

Looks like we will be leaving Bakersfield no later than 7am to get to Barstow in that time frame. Anyone who wants to meet up and caravan across the desert with us, please let me know. It's a pretty nice drive across there and it should be really scenic that early in the morning unless we have the rising sun right in our faces.
From Barstow, we'll have about another couple of hours... sorry, couldn't get this map to work.
Anyone running CB radios? That always makes road trips more fun...
