WOW! Thank you so much! Are there any more pictures of this one?
I'm blown away after looking at all those...keep them coming!
Sadly, that (out of focus) shot is the only one I have. Hopefully someone got a better pic! (That's what you get when you jump the gun and shoot the car when the camera is still focusing. *oops!*)

Boom, how come the '90 has a Trans Am nose badge on it?...jim
Good question! And one that no one asked during the Q&A session we had at the banquet.
As far as I can speculate, it appears that the Fiero & Firebird *may* have been at a merging point, and one or the other may have been going the way of the dodo bird. This would explain the Fiero chassis, as well as the "Trans Am" nose badge and the 3rd generation style speedo cluster ..
Here's the best one I've got... Anyone know if this was made from a mold of the original one? (The maroon one across the row from this one...) Or if this was a "2-off", made from scratch to look like the other one..?
------------------ Bob Williams Multi-colored '87 Mutt, a work in progress! (Got my 3800SC, installation in super-slow-motion progress. Only a Miracle will get me to the 20th in my Fiero now. Or a time machine...)
There's a post somewhere on here where the original one was made.. It's a maroon car, and was in the oppositte row as this one.. Not sure where the original post is, but it was something like "should I make molds for this nose"..

Sweet front end! Made from a mold. Will be doing some reinforcing on stress points. Should be available sometime around late fall or winter. Kris also said it was too difficult ot make the front fenders (too bad) too many compound curves. His name is "Kris' Fiero" in Fl. He said that his PFF name is kmunson56. BTW, I am first in line for a front end, no cuts. I will be doing that front end with smoked lens over the turn signals.

Eric, quick question, I see what looks to be a 2nd actual pace car that was parked down by the First Fiero.
Was that brought by GM, or is it a clone?
Thx again for the pics dude!
Jelly -
Technically there were 3 "original" Pace Cars here (not including retail replicas):
a) THE Pace Car (from the Indy Museum)
Notice the cutout in the rear tail lamp for the ABC camera.
Closeup Shot
b) A 'backup' Indy Pace Car (No hole in tail lamp. Maybe more differences that I didn't see due to it being closed most of the day.)
c) A PPG Pace Car
And you're welcome for the pics. I'm just saddened that you and everyone else that couldn't make it weren't here to witness these cars first hand. What an amazing past 3 days these have been!!!

DAMN, Boomtastic, you're right! We got questions like "Are they going to bring back the Fiero" instead of "Why is the '90 have a GTA Trans Am nose badge"!!
But we did hear Hulki apparently likes those N*'s...heheh. ...And that the Twin turbo all aluminum v8 fiero was blowing away the c5 protos...

I didn't see a handbrake lever for the 90 prototype. Is it there or just hidden from camera view? Looks like it was relocated. Was the fuel lever moved too?
Ohh, and does anyone have more pictures of the interior of the 90? like gauges, sunroof area, radio. Like a 360* view.
Looks fantastic.

I got a question. On the turbo are there any pics of the deck lid up. Wundering how the intercooler tubes connect to the engine yet it's in the wing. Thank you.
The winners were confusing, even if you were there. The only time they actually said what car won was for the "best of show" awards at the end - when everyone was screaming out "what car is it??". All the awards were just called by name, so I (and I'm sure a lot of other people) had no idea what car won most of them.. I know Purple Reign (sp?) got the hard luck award, for blowing up his NOS 3800SC engine on the way back from Waterford..

It is going to be announced on the CFOGi website, as well as here on Pennock's. Expected release date is December 1. Pre-orders were taken at the show, and orders will be able to be taken soon over the web. Forum members may want to contact me for any details on the DVD, as I am involved and I am on the Forum daily. Christian Sass is the producer, but visits here rarely.
There will be an official thread about the DVD soon.

I'll try and answer all of the unanswered questions from this thread here/now.

I don't know about the brake lever. I wasn't looking for it. Fuel lever was removed (not necessary) as the door nor opens without a cable. Interior, other than the 3rd Gen dash pod, looked stock - except that the headlamp & trunk switches were in the center console between the window switches.

anybody else notice the similarity between the seats in the 2+2 Fiero and 4th gen Trans Am seats?

Two tubes made from what looked like heater ducting came down and to the engine. It went from the intercooler down the trunk lid and into the engine compartment, right down the center. I saw them VERY briefly, then the hood got closed - right before I knew what I was looking at and before I had a chance to snap a picture.

But did anyone get some pictures of the rear of the convertable?
There may be some on my site. It had a hard boot on it if that helps ..

Did anyone get a take on what the GM reps thought of the 20th? Or of the owner cars that showed up? I am wondering about the frame braceing on the factory convertible. Did anyone get a look?
The "GM reps" were actually GM employees who were also Michigan Fiero Club members. I spoke with Ken briefly, but he was so busy we didn't get to discuss much. Sorry, no shot of the convertible bracing. (Slipped my mind)

BUT, where's the show-winners list?
I believe that is being posted elsewhere here. If not, let me know (email) and I'll get it online.
Smooth & LT188GT both gave props for pictures. Guys, you are all welcome. I can't explain what you missed. I could try and tell you about it but I wouldn't do it justice.

Steve Guenthert had CFOG permission to create the official DVD...I take it you two are working together and therefore you are the co-Producer correct?
Jen CFOG-i Northeast Deputy Director
Hi Jen!
Sastian is the producer of the CFOG/MFC video, and will be using much of the footage that I shot for this event, as well as footage from other contributors. I was originally planning to do the DVD myself, before I found out that others were involved in similar projects. Because I am having surgery soon, I felt that people would be better served by another producer who could devote more time to the project. I had doubts on how fast I could produce the DVD while still recovering from surgery. I will be involved in the creative process, but Christian Sass is the producer with the final say.
I will, however, be developing other DVD's at a later time. I already have plans in motion for a DVD devoted entirely to the prototypes.
Also, as I have mentioned in other threads, I have hours and hours of quality footage. If anyone has requests to see small clips of specific things, I will capture them and make them available. For example, there will be no way to fit every single award presentation on the DVD so anybody who won an award can request the clip of them receiving their award at the banquet. Just e-mail me if you want something!

Okay Steve! Just wanted to make sure you didn't get shut out since you were doing such an awesome job. There better be some go-kart footage of the awesome Chris Moore crash!
I mean come on people. Get with it. THis was your chance to go balls to the wall and you didn't. What a damn shame.
And am I wrong or did CrazyD and his badass v8 car setup for autocross not run there? I didn't see his car in any of the pics. He not backup any of his big talk again??
Mike,
You obviously have never even driven on a road course, so you need to stop trash-talking other people who actually did it. You are making a complete ass of yourself.
If you've ever ridden in a go-kart and have also watched them, you know that it feels a whole lot faster when you're actually driving than when you're standing on the sidelines. Videos cannot do justice to the experience of driving on a real racetrack. Not to mention that I would never be on the same track with you, because anyone who would drive as you say you would (even though it's all ) is a lethal weapon to himself and to everyone around him.
I tried to make it there but my left rear tire exploded about 30 miles from the track on Rt. 24 just south of the hotel, and I had to overnight another set from Tire Rack but there was no way to get them there in time. And that was just the beginning of my troubles during the weekend.
You on the other hand, didn't even try.
Dave
