It has been brought to my attention that a forum member who purchased Skitime & LT1ChopTop posters was not impressed with the quality of the prints.
I want it to be clear to all who are interested in the posters, that the above mentioned posters I would not normally classify as being truly "photographic" in reproduction. They were "rez'd up" using Adobe PhotoShop to reach the suggested resolution. This means that they will look like photos from a short distance (2-3ft), but up close you will see some "blotchiness" and/or "pixelation" specifically on edges that would normally appear sharp.
This occurs regularily on large format graphics that are not of the optimal resolution. Beware that if you send me a file and I tell you that it can be magnified to 24" wide, but that it may not be the best... I mean it.
In contrast to the above statement, I'd also like to point out that both skitime & LT1ChopTop were very pleased with the prints that they recieved.
I will gladly review any digital photos you send me- and provide you with my honest opinion as to whether or not it is worth trying to print, and how large is the maximum.
Hhhmm... Is the wood cheaper then lowering spring's??? If the wood is cheaper then, I might go that way instead of lowering spring's... hhmmm...
Yeah, the lumber only cost me about $80 or so. Definately less than a complete set of lowering springs/spindles. AND there is an added bonus... that 4'x8' sheet of plywood acts as a huge spoiler (I actually designed the cargo rack to be slightly tilted forwards). I bet I could pull over 1.0g on the skidpad with that super-spoiler!!!

MinnGreenGT, I am more than satisfied with the quality of my posters. Everyone who sees them are very impressed. This photo was taken digitally and not at the highest setting of the camera either. Little did I know that the picture would be so popular. I won't make that mistake again. You did an outstanding job with the pic I sent you. Besides who ever views posters at such a close proximity. BTW, I was really impressed with your laminations too. Far superior to any photo laminations I have seen before. Folks you must realize the limitations of the mediums and you will be pleased with MinnGreenGTs work. Thanks again!

Ross- glad to see that you recieved your poster so quickly (it only went out on Friday). Your photo was just right for the size we printed it at (20"x24"). Thanks!
a little bump for Rob cause I just figured out another poster I wouldn't mind seeing.
I'm real happy with my posters of the Great Blue, and ski's ride, and there was an idea of another picture I had seen somewhere that I had liked.
FieroKyle, are ya listening?
If there was a high-res original of that great pic of your car around I think I'd like one! Looks like it was taken near dusk, parking lights on, great tree background....

JD- Thanks for the bump! If you can supply a photo, I can print it!
XDrewX- My company does wide format printing, digital graphic design, illustration, displays, etc... so as long as the company is around- I'll be printing posters for anyone who asks! BTW: I've done 2'x3' prints from a 2.1MP Camera- and they turn out OK, not 100% photographic, but definitely usable.
Everyone: I am also working with Reality on doing custom illustrations for use on the posters (as well as wherever else you'd like to use it-like your signature). I just printed the first "California Kid" poster last night- and it's awsome!
California Kid (24"x36") are $45 normal, $55 laminated

Rob,
I have the pic of the Indy that was on pontiac75.com last year as the car of the month for August. It's a scanned pic, but at high res - 300 dpi / 3000x2040 pixels.
I'd post it but it's a 4 meg JPG - not so nice for the dialup folks.
I think it would make an awesome poster, especially since I love Indys. I assume, however, that the copyright belongs with Pontiac, which means you can't print it, right? What are your thoughts on the matter? I can send it to you if you didn't get it.
Cheers, Andrew PS: gonna do a poster of the Stinger?

Andrew- Thanks for your interest! I haven't recieved the photo you mentioned (did you email it to rob@romatekgraphics.com or MacGod911@aol.com ? either should work). But I'd have to determine who owns the rights to the photo used (and retrieve permission) before printing. Send the image (if you haven't already) and I'll see what we can figure out!
We (Reality & I) are working on a show-display, and matching poster of the LT1 Stinger project (although we haven't worked details out with Archie yet)... it'll be coming
CoolBlue87 (24"x36") are $45 normal, and $55 laminated they are available with or without "CoolBlue87" The sign behind the car reads "The Pegasus Grill"

Poster arrived in great shape! Special thanks to "MinnGreenGT" and "Reality" for their fine work in creation of this poster. Looking forward to framing it and hanging it on the wall.

Archie tose will work out great and is much better than sending them on disk. I will get started ASAP. Right now I am feeling very ill and I'm just trying to get better. BTW I've never understood why when you have a sore throat the Doc's proceed to proscribe horse pills! Take care.
wow, heh.. I still want them all.. but at about $70 CDN for one.. I can't afford them... but they are all on my "to buy list" (but I only buy about 10% of the things on my to buy list since I'm semi-broke... lol )

Minn, I got a question for you.. I have a picture (or 2) I'd like as a poster.. problem is.. it's a picture and I only have 1 copy of it and no scanner... and I don't want to lose it.. how could we work around it?

Hmmm... well, you can either take a chance that the postal service wont lose it- or you can take it to a local photo shop (like ProEx) and have a duplicate made (either from the negative if you've got it, or from the print itself)... then send me the duplicate!
I do/will return all photos that are sent to me... but there is always a risk of damage whenever sending originals through the mail.

Man...i need to get a poster done of my car. But my digital camera isn't that good. Heres some pics here. Are they good enough. I'll have to take some better pics though. If i sent you ACTUAL photos will that work? How much to do one like you did of California Kids. thats way sweet!
I am so happy with the results on mine, your poster will be featured along side my car tomorrow @ the Pontiac Southern Nationals at the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, Tex.
Thanks for the great work!

Man these posters are awesome. As soon as I get on my new wheels and lowering springs I will have to get one made for me. How long do you plan on doing these for?
Hmmm... gone for Dells Run and almost missed that this was bumped!
Haze- thanks for the bump! The show signs (like the one I had at Fierorama '01 and Dells Run '02) are $150 complete. They are typcially printed paper with a heavy duty laminate. Mine has survived a few carshows (ran & shine) with little or no damage due to the elements.
DL10- I've got the small one of the ChopTop that I did with/for Joel. I can print you one like that (see 1st page). Or if you have a new/different photo- I can certainly go with that (the current one is somewhat small). And yes... I'm still doing the show displays. They're $150 for a 2'x3' (see my pics from Dells Run- it's in front of my GT).
Lildevil- the internet pics just don't do well for big printing. A 35mm printed photo works quite well... just send it to the address listed on the 1st page.
JohnF- I'm glad to hear that you like your poster so well... I still need to email you a small copy for your signature!
84fierose- My company does wide format printing for many applications, the posters are just kind of a side project for a little extra income. So as long as I'm working- I'll be available for printing.

Yes, I can still produce posters & displays- although there are a few minor changes.
Back in the middle/end of September I finally decided to close/sell my company (Romatek Graphics). It was becoming too stressful to work 2 full time jobs and still attempt to maintain a "normal" life the rest of the time.
The positive side of this is that I sold all my equipment to the company I work for during the day XtraLite Display Systems, Inc. where I am the graphics department (just now running twice the amount of equipment).
I can still produce the posters upon request, and the pricing will stay the same. The only real difference is that any mailing addresses I listed previously are now changed (I also moved, so that goes for my residential address as well).
If you are sending photos, please mail them to:
Xtralite Display Systems, Inc. Graphics Dept/Rob Bartlett 501 East Hwy 13, Suite 110 Burnsville, MN 55337
Feel free to PM or email me at rob@xtralite.com with any questions too!
