That isn't the case on your assembly.

Really makes me wonder which failed first the trans part, or the Tri-pod assembly????

I'll go with California Kids theory on U joint failure. If the joint failed and came apart it very well could have jammed and locked the wheel. The tranny tried to keep turning a locked axel and crack!!!! The only other thing that I would investigate are failed output bearings in the tranny.

<BUMP> Steve I know you went to NOPI and wondered how this repair on your car is going. I won't be getting any days off for a couple weeks, just prior to the wifes' surgery. Hope to get by soon! Getting ready to cart the oldest daughter off to college tomorrow. Gotta mow the yard today and pack her up...

Lyle just called and said my car is done. I should pick it up today!

He pointed out a few things I need to address though...

The car is setting in the garage. I pulled the pass axle and my olds mini van axle should be here tomorrow.
I raised the pass side of the engine up per Ed Parks suggestion and knocked out the few things Lyle pointed out.
I'll keep you all posted. Its sure nice to have the fiero home though!
