Just got a McIntosh MC440M 6-channel amp. (4x50 & 2x100 watts of power)

The trick will be getting this into the Fiero in place of the Denon DCA-800 (6x50 watts) in the front of the car.

The "box" that the Denon sits in is about 13"x15". The Mcintosh is 12"x19". I'll be removing the box, and may have to relocate the windshield washer bottle - easier than moving the wiper motor.

This will be one project left for March - after the World of Wheels show...

But it'll be at the 20th Anniversay Show in Pontiac, Michigan.

Sweet! Looks really cool too. I just got an Alpine-450 for xmas, 5 channel (50x4 and 200x1) and an equalizer. Never realized how much of a difference an amp makes.

Here's it's Big Brother, the MC4000M 4x100 and 6x300 watts (1000 total)
These are REAL watts, not pumped up ratings you see on $169 amps the size of a small cookie box.

The guy I got my MC440M from has one of these for sale too! Too much for me!

Hey everyone! A few changes to my system - nothing major:
Just a new amp - Macintosh MC440M 6-channel 400 watts (4x50 + 2x100 for subs)

And I repositioned the deck so I could get a cup holder in the dash

The cup holder is all the way out. The shifter is in 3rd gear, so no clearance problems as you can see. I can still adjust volume and up/down on CD tracks with cup holder out. (yes, my instrument cluster is out at present).
I got the cup-holder assembly from a 96 Dodge Colt at a wrecking yard.

Some "hardware" I've collected. The 3 plaques on the left are World of Wheels awards from ISCA ( www.theisca.com ), the rest are awards from Stereo Competitions sponsored by IASCA ( www.iasca.com ) The "tall" one is 5 foot high. If you want to see impressive "stuff" visit an IASCA event to look at the cars there.
