I started out planning on finding a bumper (Fiero or otherwise) and cutting it up to mod onto my current aero nose (ala Lawrence/skitime). I have tons of bumper cores come through work so I thought I'd find something, but I've been pretty busy, and never did find anything that really did it for me. Then the Fiero Warehouse came out with this new spoiler, and I've gotten great products from them in the past, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Again, I've been busy lately with work, getting married, etc. So instead of doing the install myself, I sent it to one of our bumper plants. My cover had some minor damage from a hit and run on it anyhow.
Anyhow, like you guys care about any of that, Here's the pics!
I'm real happy with how it looks, and just hope I can slap it back on, re-install the interior, and have time to make it to the Dells! If I do, I guess I'll be "work in progress" instead of Custom or Modified eh!

What exactly does the "bumper plant" do to your bumper to restore it? Mind telling us what it would cost the normal customer to get it done? Also, did they attach/mold on the fiberglass piece, or did you stick that on yourself after getting the bumper repaired?
Looks good, I saw them at the Fiero Factory Swap Meet, can't wait to see one installed.

Doesn't look like I'm going to make it to the Dells, otherwise it could be seen there. Can't wait to get it on myself, but been too busy with stuff at home.
Our plastic repair shops do a number of things during the repair process, like a hot-tank to restore shape and soften paint, and of course the actual plastic repair itself. Due to my time constrants, I actually had them attatch the fiberglass piece as well. As for price, there's a fixed price for the bumper cover itself. Since I'm an employee I got cut a nice deal.

I didn't even know this type of service existed, although it doesn't surprise me since tons of car use plastic/urethane body parts (bumpers particularly).
So, can you give us a number to call to find out pricing? Or, could you tell us what is *supposed* to cost a normal customer?
Do they have a way to strip the paint so that you get a raw bumper (like new), or does the "softened paint" just keep it from cracking worse? I don't get how you can soften the paint.
Thanks for the info!

The chin spoiler almost slips on like a glove. You do need to do a little work on it to get it to fit just right. Then you can bond it on using the stuff they use to bond Corvette body pieces together.
I'm using my parts car to to fit the piece before I put it on my GT.

Yeah, the hot-tank will force the cover back into shape from its memory (if possible) and the tank has chemicals to soften the paint, and then its stripped. The cover in the pics is dull black because that's the primer, ie. not raw. All primed and ready to go!
Nashco: I'll shoot you a PM
Ski: Thanks! Its gettin there.
The Aura: It's glued on.
Thanks for the interest guys!

Thought I would post this so people could get an idea as to how a car would look with the chin spoiler installed. This picture was taken at the Florida show and is the first traial fit of a spoiler on Frank's car. Enjoy and Take care, Anthony
edit: Please note that there are no mounting holes drilled on the spoiler and it is not secured to Frank's bumper in anyway other than we just slipped the spoiler over the factory bumber and left it resting there. I would also like to additional point out that eventhough I stated the above mentioned spoiler was not attached that dosen't mean there aren't mounting holes. The spoiler mounts in several factory locations.
I am curious to see JD86GT350, how did the "bumper plant" mold/attach the end of the spoiler and edge of bumper (where the inner fender attaches)? Can we see pictures of this as well? IE: did they mold it in, or did they use the endcaps that Fiero Warehouse has as an option for mounting?
It's nice to work with a piece that fits as well as this one did from Sage Glassworks (avialable through the Fiero Warehouse. They have put out one heck of a product.

Just wanted JD86GT350 to see this and maybe take some pictures of those inside edges.
yawn, just got home after a 4 hr stretch of working on the car, within the next day or two I'll have it mounted on the car (I need a bumper if I'm going to make it to the Dells!) I'll try to snag a pic for you tomorrow of the fenderwells though. I remember Sage mentioning endcaps in the first thread about these, but I'm not sure they're an option anymore. I just asked Doug for one, and he sent it to me, no option of endcaps.
btw guys, I'm not selling or advertising for my work, I just thought I'd mention how it was done.

Hmm I did just realize that the website dsoen't say anything about the endcaps. That will be fixed shortly. Yes the endcaps are still available. They are actually quite ingenous. I know Frank got a set of them for his install. Thanks in advance for the pictures I really look forward to seeing them. And please post pictures of the finished deal I would love to have a picture of an installed spoiler for the website as well.

Are the endcaps extra $$ or are they included?? I saw the chin spoilers at Carlisle, but didn't notice any extra parts.
Just wondering since this will be the spoiler that will be going on my project car eventually...will probably drive down to Doug's sometime in late June to pick one up.

They are extra because they are not neccessary in order to install the spoiler. As for price I haven't got ahold of DOug yet to get a quote. Once I get all the info together I'll get it onto the website.
Here's a pic of the back corner, I hope its what you were lookin for Reality.
Is exactly what I was looking for. I really have to hand it to those guys that is a topnotch install. I guess thelast question seems stupid but did they use the factory mounting holes on the bottom inside of the bumper? Or did they come up something of their own? A do make sure that the drain hole is drilled wouldn't want water collecting in the bumper. Thanks again and take care, Anthony

yup, stuck with the factory mounting holes on the inside, got the drain holes, I just need to spend some time adjusting the gaps after I get everything painted!
Maybe somebody snapped a pic or two at the Dells, there was another silver car there that had one installed and painted as well. I didn't get a good look at his though.

great. that answers two questions for me. i got mine for a silver gt and i have a front plate holder on it.
i'm wondering though if i should look for a deeper rear under spoiler (the little black piece under the stock gt facia) that pbj once mentioned. seems like it might be practical to still catch air with the new lowered spoiler.
