The halogen lights I was using really make the red stand out...and make it seem brighter than it is. I need to get an outside picture as soon as the paint dries and the temperature gets above zero!

Archie: What glass are you using? Is it custom? The kitcar world needs to know.
The original GT40's had a Glass windshield and all other windows were plastic.
Ours will have a glass windshield and the rear window of the passenger compartment is also safty glass. The side windows, headlight covers, parking light covers and outside rear window are all Lexan custom made from tooling that we made here. The rear inside saftey glass window I have made locally here. The windshield is one of 6 real GT40 replica windshields I bought made in South Africa.

I dont really agree wih how the front nose is shaped. It looks like it will create a ton of lift at high speeds. The original GT 40's look alot thicker and wider. youres has a pointy little nose. Anyone agree with me? Are you planning on adding anything to stop air from catching the bottom of the nose and trying to flip the car over?

There is 1 piece that isn't installed on the car yet that runs under the front end, but with the pics we have here, you'll only see the leading edge. It does give a lower definition to the front end and will make it look complete. Once the car is finished, you'll understand what I'm talking about.
As for the body style, this car was molded from an actual GT-40 from the mid-60's. Same exterior demensions and styling.

The best replica kits, to me, are the ones that do not look at all like the donor. Great job Archie - that car is beautiful, especially the exhaust setup.

We got stripes! Unfortunately, I forgot the damn camera at the shop! Chris and I stayed until 10:30 tonight getting those stripes just right, and they look great! We finish polishing tomorrow and buttoning up a few of the painting issues, then the rest of the assembly. Archie's guys are really something else. They are putting together one heck of a car, and the workmanship is wonderful. All you guys and gals are going to love it and want 1 (or 2) for the garage.
Most of the paint work is done. We've got just a bit of polishing yet, and the guys in the shop are assembling the rest of the car just in time for the World of Wheels show in Chicago next weekend. For those of you in Chicagoland, come and see it! For those of you that cannot make the trek, we'll sure post some pics for you. We'll also let you know how to order one or two for yourself!

I like the GT4D designation for it, but Archie 40 or 4D sounds good too. What you write on it won't take away from its beauty, but every little bit helps!
