Well looks like I am a lucky Soaper rip off person again. I sent Soaper about $15 cash for a few parts off his Formula about 3 weeks ago maybe. Now he doesn't post on Pennocks, doesn't sign on to AIM like he use to. It just kind of pisses me off that he always talked to me then once I sent him $15 its like he vanished. And its not even the fact that I sent him only $15, its the fact that I trusted him. If you have enough guts to post here, I would like to know what's up as you said the box was lost twice. I felt the need that the entire forum needs to know. Anyone else have troubles with Soaper? I know Joe Torma did with some tailights, ever get that resolved? Has anyone gotten any parts they have paid for through Soaper? Well let me know!

Everyone; i know rarew66 talked to soaper on the phone once about coming to a Fiero event so he might still have his number.
His phone number is: (309) 343-8555. I love online billing, I know he's the only number in IL I've called in the last 6 months, makes it very easy to find his number
According to the internet (read:"I'm not sure if this is right or not"), the address associated with his phone number is: 2470 170th Street Galesburg, IL 61401
Well, at least he's not getting anybody for too much money.
$15 bux, $20 bux, $60? Is that really worth tarnishing you reputation for that?
How is it tarnishing my repuation. He stole money from us just like if he was in my home town and robbed me of my wallet. I dont appreciate it. My parts were small and next to nothing really for $15. He even messaged me the day of him getting my cash and IM'd me saying he I got your $15. And this deal with his mom is really pissing me off too. Usually the person that sells the parts, ships the parts, but maybe not. Anyways, I still think its pretty lame if he thinks he is getting away with this. I dont care if I gave him a penny its the fact that he is a liar and can't be trusted. And just to think he kept telling me to come up to Illinois to see him on my way to the 20th. Ill show up at his door one of these months because my uncle lives in Galesburg. It should be quite funny. I bet he doesn't even own a Formula.
Well, at least he's not getting anybody for too much money.

OK... so I took your post wrong as well
Hopefully this topic will have one or more results: 1)Soaper sees this and aknowledges the error of his ways and makes all right. or 2)People see that Soaper is not following through on his dealings, and therefor do not attempt further transactions with him.

No, no, no Amir. I meant by ripping other people off he's giving himself a bad name in the pennocks community, not you.
Maybe I wasn't clear. You sending him some money for some parts and getting nothing in return, (literally) doesn't make you look bad in any way. It just screws him in the end.
Hopefully you guys can recoup some of you losses. And no one will give him any future business. I hate seeing fellow PFF'ers burning each other.

I didn't take his post like that, Amir. I agree with Blazin, how stupid is it to be known as a crook and a liar for what amounts to beer money? Just to be clear, I'm talking about Soaper and I'm sure blazin was, also.

I was supposed to buy the tranny from him in July. He had problems pulling it,and said he'd have it out in a few weeks. Then, in Sept, he asked for a downpayment on it. I didn't want to give up any money, after reading the probs you guys had, and having waited 2 months. I said I preferred to pay when pulled. I haven't heard from him since, but am not out any money. (Still don't have that tranny though).

So somebody give him a ring and see what is going on. He always seemed like an OK person to me chatting with him. Maybe that was just a come-on, or maybe there is legitimate roblems. Either way, he should send the parts paid for or refunds right away!
Also, he should be shipping parts by a method with tracking, UPS, FedEx ground etc. If packages were lost, he should get them to track it!
Has anyone gotten any parts they have paid for through Soaper? Well let me know!

i paid $12 for horn paddles and the pad and recieved them 5 days after i sent him the money. (MO at that). i think he lives out in the middle of nowhere too, but that's not an excuse. Hopefully he will turn up and you guys will get your stuff!

This is why Pennock's is good. I've read a LOT of times where he didn't send something, or he sent something and it was broken, etc...Never heard of anyone recouping (sic) thier losses.
Shawn, I finally got my check out Monday. Did it arrive yet? Sorry for the delay!

I've been posting on and off for the past 3-4 months that I got ripped off. I got part of what I paid for and part of what I got was broke. Despite multiple promises on his part to make it right it never has.
After waiting about 6 weeks, I honestly didn't think the parts car existed and got ripped off $60. I still have the last PM he sent me, I'll share if anyones interested in seeing it. He uses quite the nice language I might add.
Was the first time I've ever been ripped off on the internet. -------------------------------------------- What the heck, here's the PM he sent me. It was dated 09-04-2003 11:28 PM
yes yes i know i f*cked up with the parts to you. and yes i am truly sorry and i cant fix what happened. what i can do is refund the 30$ u said u would take back. send me ur address and such and ill send it back out. if there anything else u would wnat for ur fiero? ill send it out on me. since i screwed up. if u want ne thing else just pm back. ill be waiting for address. sorry i havent sent back and sorry it's taken so long. not trying to make any enemies on here. just i screwed up. Back in June he was supposedly selling the Formula complete, except for a disassembled engine which was missing some parts (intake and stuff). I was very interested in the car and was ready with the trailer to head to Galesburg from Milwaukee, but before I would commit to the car I asked for a couple of pictures of it just so I wouldn't drive the 4 hours to find a pile of crap. He said he couldn't send any pictures because his friend with the digital camera was never around, or some excuse like that.
I didn't get the car....and I really wanted to, too.

I dont think that phone # for Soaper even works, it just keeps ringing and ringing, no answer. This is complete crap. What a fool, Ill see him Galesburg here before summer. I might make a road trip up in my Formula with the 3800sc to see how she does and maybe make a surprise visit since I have his address.

Maybe Cliff might want to set up a "BLACKLIST" entry just like yahoo_auction does. This way before we buy something from someone we get to check the list first. We could even rate them 1-5, etc...

I've been trying for a while to buy the rear suspension from him and I just live a few miles away. Fortunaly I did not give him any money. I have talked to him in the last few weeks and I get the same response. "It's almost removed from the car". I did make a surprise visit about 6 weeks ago and he had excuses then also. The car is not in very good condition. The interior is out of the car, the radiator is gone, it looks rusty on the underside from what I could see. I might still buy the rear suspension from him but I will need to take a real good look at everything first. It may not be worth the effort. He does have a second phone number- 309-342-7378. Good luck you guys.

Been a while, but I bought some parts or maybe owner's manuals (can't remember which now) from Azarael. No problems a all, he even threw in some freebies.

My father caught me stealing a candy bar from a store shelf when I was 6.
After he made me apologize to the clerk and store manager, and took away my allowance for a month, and grounded me for two weeks he said, "so son, was a $.25 piece of candy worth the price you're going to be paying for it?"
I learned at age 6. Soaper is a bit slow on the uptake I guess.

If you pay thru paypal, use their charge back policy. The seller will have to show paypal that the item was shipped (tracking number) with in 7 days of payment. The seller will have 10 days after paypal e-mails him to provide a tracking number, otherwise they will charge back his account. If no money in his account they go after his credit card!!
If the item is worth more than $200 the seller has to show signature receipt in addition to tracking number.

I went and looked at the car when he had the whole thing for sale. The car didn't look bad from the outside but I had never seen so much rust in an engine. He had the valve cover off and there was so much rust on the rockers that I don't think that you could have even removed them. The car looked like it was in the flood of 93. That is the only thing I could think of to be able to have that much rust in the engine. I backed off the deal because of that. His mom and dad were very nice good people. I had a good visit with them but only walked away with a GT emblem. $10.00 I did look at some other Fiero's in Galesburg and wanted one that was a owned by a friend of Soapers but he never got back with me on it. A black 88 with a bad head gasket.??? I'll be in Galesburg next week and I can drive by and see if the car is there. His folks wanted him to get ride of the car. I think soaper got the money spent, it and didn't have the money left to ship the parts. Nor does he have the tools or the know how to pull an engine. Before he put his car up for sale, I told him I had a 2.8 he could have if he wanted to pull it and put in his 88. He wanted me to pull it or he would come to my place and help me pull it. That was not an option so after that he put the car up for sale.
