Thanks for the bump...
As some of you may know I'm finishing up my senior year in highschool. Well its been a little busy this last week due to coming to the end of the first semester. I'm working when I can but its a little tough. I have the next 2 weeks off starting this coming friday, so I will finish up my t-top headliner proto; and possibly send off a copy of it to some of our CF people. Once I finish the headliner, I will start on the flares. Although the GT will have to be put off until I can get ahold of a parts car. There are only 3 GTs in this town and none are for sale except a show car which is $6k.

speaking of which... anyone know of a GT parts car within 100 miles of Pocatello Idaho?

I'll post pics of the t-top headliner probably this weekend/beginning of next week

[edit] this is my first 3 page topic hurray!!

Ask to borrow one of the GT's to make fender flare plugs and offer to give them a free set for lending it to you.
Oh I hope you find a GT one day...

problem is... shipping would be killer because to make sure they are an exact fit/match... they would need to be formed and molded from a GT, not only front and rear bumpers but side skirts and trim. I dont want my parts to be like a lot of after market crap. I don't want them to fit poorly and need a lot of work. I want it to be maybe a quick fit adjustment and paint

What part of shipping costs do you mean exactly? To borrow a GT or ship out the fender flares after they're produced? If it's the first one, I meant borrow a GT from one of the guys in your town...

A nice fit is definitely a plus. I like how "quality" is something you're going for...

I dont know any of the fiero owners in town. I only see the GT's as I'm heading to or from somewhere and dont have time to follow them. Plus, people around here are the typical anti-fiero people... almost all of them don't know what they have, theres only 8 fieros that I know of in this town and I have only met one of them and he had ricer mentality...

Oh well, hopefully you'll get your hands on one some day. I'm sure a lot of GT owners would be interested in a set.

For just the flares as shown by Aus, I think a Notchy will work for the GT flare as, too. The GT fastback only changes shape above the fuel door and back by the tail light. Someone plese correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup, that's the problem.

Is it stupid to suggest making the flares with excess trim along those "different" sections? That way the buyer could trim them down to fit their specific car perfectly. I know you want to make them fit as perfectly as possible right from the start but that could be an option for the GT guys...at least until you get a GT someday to make proper forms. Just throwing ideas...

true... I could make the whole thing about 2" wider then it needs to be and then allow the customer to trim down... then perhaps a customer would be kind enough to get them fit perfectly and send them back for me to take a mold of.... thats a thought. hmmmm

perhaps we'll work out a deal for them...like half price for that customer...any volunteers?

Sure,

I have an 88 GT Fastback I could test fit them on. PM me if you are serious.

Notch flares are in the making... its been stuck on the back burner for the time being because I'm trying to finish my custom fiberglass interior so that I can get it back on the road this summer.

I MIGHT possibly take a mold of my dash/doors/etc if there are some interested once I get the proto done.

the first design of flares i'm making will have to be glassed in... depending on the interest of those and how they turn out, i might design bolt ons...

I have a hood i'm working on for a unique hood scoop, and i'm going to go pick up some quarter panels as soon as some of this snow melts and i can make it to the yards.

I'm going to do some photoshopping later and maybe post some ideas and see what people think
thanks for the bump
