Bad news for the people with the aux. guage above the center radio pod. I took mine apart and the volts, and oil things are actually molded into the face plate for the thing. So I cannot make seperate ones. I could, but the buyer would litteraly have to carve the old ones out and glue the new ones in.
For the good news, the prototype is pretty much done for the right bank. I'll use black construction board for a backer. It'll hold up. The prototype is iffy, but all protype's usually are. The backer board will be glued on with super glue, so it should never peal. The black of it also, keeps it from glowing up around where it shouldn't be. It'll only glow through the black of the ink a little bit, but it has a red hue because of the thing being painted red. I never did the blinker yet, but that shouldn't be seriously hard at all to mask and paint with the green, plus with the left side, all I have to do is reverse it in Paint and make the characters for that side. I'll make up an order form. 1 will be made and sent out free of charge to Aero88cpe for review. Sets will be $16 shipped to cover costs of the supplies and for some profit. I'll make lights for the aux guage pod but only if the buyer understands that the old ones have to be cut out with a razor knife, ruining it for changing it back to stock. Also if something is wrong about them, and you don't like it right away I'll refund. But I've posted pretty much everything that they're like. First come first serve, start posting if you want a set, and I'll give you a printable order form. I'll post a picture of the protype in an hour or so. I'll even try having it hooked up in my car.

Here's the pictures, remember this is the prototype, so its not exact. It's a little unaligned, for some of the boxes, but when they're made for what you order, it'll be test fitted and made right. The box will glow in the area that doesn't have the black backing to it, with a blackish red hue, which doesn't look bad on itself, so it can be seen in the pictures. I'll probably make the boxes bigger, so it doesn't look totally bad. Remember you can order anything you want as long as its about 6-7 characters for each line, and a max of 3 lines. The aux guages like mentioned above will have to be cut out and reglued. Also the arrow isn't painted green in these pics. It may also be fuzzy do to the camera not focusing well in the dark, and putting it up on cardomain also makes it look worse then originally.
Just an idea, paint the entire backing green (all but the red areas) make up a seperate image that is everything but the "Service Engine" and what not (red Lettering) all in Green, then print it over top of your current transparancy After it has dryed. This should block out more of the light from the "Black" area - and make it appear less "Red". Just a idea I had - no idea if it will work or not.
for the check engine light... "game over" ? "self destruct" ? or simply a green dollar sign. hmm. the ideas could be endless.
too bad in california an operational "check engine" light is required to get through the smog check. you'd have to swap the wording every two years unless you could find an "agreeable" smog tech.
Just to clarify, you're ready to go for both dash types? Are you ready to go with both banks of lights? If so, I'll decide what I like best and send in my order.
yes I am. My order form explains the differences between the 84 and 86 gt overlays I have, but if yours is different from my description please notify me and tell me, and order it the way its set up in your dash.
It's a habit I don't encourage or participate in..
..but what about a marijuana leaf as an indicator for high beams?
:P

Sorry, but intricate details won't show up, and I won't be able to do something like that anyways. The only real graphics I can do is the arrows for the turn signals, shift light, and maybe the high beams light/bullet symbol.
Also if someone places an order, please PM me that you did so I know how many I have to be ready for. Thank-you!!

I love the "Ignore this light" idea for the shift light. That's awesome.
I think "This away" and That away" would be great in the turn signals.
Brake? "Broke" duh. This is a Fiero after all. My brake light comes on when I push my decklid release button.
Something like "Nice brights" in the high beam box
You '80's enthusiasts could have "super pursuit mode" in the high beams or shift light boxes.
Water temp?

For those of us with auto trannys, would there be a way to put a switched light in place of the shift light? So "Super Pursut Mode" or whatever could be turned on and off??

Sure, but I don't want to do it as a kit or anything. Simple extra wires soldered onto a click on, click off switch, then to a 12v power source.

Molded in? Yes, but only to the printed surface itself! You can peel the entire "decal" back and replace it if you like
Here is a photo of my aux pod replacement installed. Note that this "indiglo" style system didn't work because of the lighting pattern. If I had done a set with a stock-style black covering... it would likely have been more-successful.
I did a lot of development work with Joe Torma before finally letting the "indiglo" project go (mostly due to high production costs). I supplied SpeedHut with all my layout files to help them speed up their design process... and they now have them available directly.
The only thing they don't provide is the pieces you're working on... which I had simply made a semi-transparent sticker for so people wouldn't have all white-face gauges with black strips... here's my layout:

PM Sent, I have a order form here: $16 U.S. Just write your canadian check to reflect the price difference. Probably like $23 canadian.
How about a RED pontiac emblem for the high beam light like the OLD cars used to have... Even better, if it had an indian head like the old Pontiacs used to have...

Woah, there's still interest, no one has ordered any yet. Yea I could *probably* do a Pontiac emblem, but no indian head.

Hmm, this thread seems interesting. For the blinker lights, I personally think that "Dodge This" or "Dodge That" would be appropriate. For the check engine light, I would think "Oh crap!" Would be the one for that. For shift up, maybe "Gun it!" Or "Weeeeeeeeee" (lol). For the temp light, I think that "Slap the retard at the tire shop for setting the jack under your coolant pipes" would best fit it Or maybe just "Toasty". Oh and maybe also for the shift up light, you could do that alt code for a smiley face .....or maybe like the one I just did hehe. Anyways, there's my opinions. I really think this is an awesome idea personally.
