Aw, man, I was going to be the first! I picked up a 1996 Trans Am, with the LT1 engine, last night at Lombard Hobbies (shameless plug). 15 minutes after I got it home I had the engine out.

I just didn't have the heart to dissamble the Fiero model. The cheapie Ertl car ($9.95) seems to have a lot more plastic in it than the Fiero, so all of a sudden putting the plastic V8 in doesn't seem right. Maybe it will look better when I paint it.

dont feel bad the fiero engine is plastic to just be carefull when you cut the transaxle not to cut too much off then use standard model cement to glue it to the new engine
and no you dont need ARCHIES adapter to put it in

WOW I'm impressed. How did you switch the wheels exactly? I have a dodge viper sitting at home as well as my own fiero diecast... that V10 would look nice in the back!! Those are some nice pieces of work I must say.

Those wheels it comes with, definately are no good.

Hey, i did the first engine swap! wel...the first attempted engine swap. got an LS1 out of a burnago (sp?) vette modle. after a lot of modding i decided the engine was too long and wide to fit, just gonna do a regular small block now.

but hey joe, thats not a caddy engine in the green one, so its not accurate

no its a reworked old caddy engine from a hot rod reworked
to look like a 4.9 but the scale engines dont look like the real thing anyway
still have to find a breather with the right shape
water pump and front of engine are setup the same as the 4.9

He's at it again!!!

The latest engine swap by BubbaJoe, a Supercharged V8 4.9. Wheels are from a SVT Mustang.

GTFiero1, so you could not put the LS1 in. Here is a Supercharged V8 and it fits, no cutting!

Just ordered mine today. Need to turn it into a black 86 SE with saddle interior, 350 SBC and gold trimmed wheels. I guess I'll be needing those SE stickers! Does anybody make 1:18 scale engines or engine parts? I'm gonna need some tall Moroso chrome valve covers.

Only the 1985 GT is available. Red and silver are the only color choices. You can get them at the Fiero Store.

Can't wait for mine to arrive. I ordered four of them (2-silver 2-red) knowing that I would be modding at least one or two. Seeing these now has me thinking that I should have ordered more!

If only they made fastbacks! Hopefully Yat Ming will sell enough of the "notchies" to justify tooling up a fastback model.

I've been playing around with mine, and I've got the same Viper wheels on a Burago viper.. does anyone know how to get another set of wheels on the fiero?? I've taken the Fiero completely apart and I see how the wheels work on it but I can't seem to find another set of wheels that will go on like the stock fiero ones do.

any help??

Has anyone completed an LT1 swap yet? Does the engine need to shift over to the right to make it fit?

So which motor swap do you think is the best for the Yat Ming Fiero?
