Mike,
First of all, I'm looking forward to seeing you at the Western
Regional this weekend. Second, if you're reading this now, you'll
probably be late for the show! Third, I have seen one of these "Mario"
cars with the Formula/Coupe style nose on a Fastback GT body. The car is
red and has a black "Mario Andretti" sticker on the rear bumper. I think
the engine is a four cylinder Sunbird engine. I don't recall if it's
turbocharged, although I think it is. And yes, I saw it at that Fiero
shop in Bellevue, Washington. I wasn't really too impressed with it
because I wasn't sure whether or not to believe that it's real. See ya!

found that on the net. and the first one is sitting by my house in a driveway and hasnt moved for years. the odometer says 10001 miles on it it has a factory boost gauge and a dash plaque that says xxx00001 does anyone that has better funds then me want to try and rescue and preserive this car? the guy is a real loner tho it seams he doesnt ever answer his door and i have left him lots of notes. i was hopping maybe he would sell it to me but i have given up because even if he does or is willing to sell it im not near as well funded to get somthing like that as some of u might be.
does anyone want to look into this?

\If this is the same as you are talking about, the cars were built by a company called Red Shift Limited.
I still have the files that loafer87gt sent me.
Anyone who wants copies, let me know and I'll send them by email. I may wait a while to see who's interested. The files are pretty big. Don't want to do it a bunch of times.

What the heck...

These are greatly reduced in size. The Zip file that contains the large ones is 2.5 M.
Just let me know if ya want it.

Sorry for all the bandwidth. This one seems worth it, though.

Uhhh, you realize this email was from almost nine years ago, right? It could very likely be the same car that your neighbor owns.

One of these cars was up for sale in Portland, OR, about 6-7 years ago. I think it brought about $6000? I'm not sure.

Would Michael ( or Mario) know anything about these cars? They live in the next town down the road.

Too bad they went to all that trouble and it's slower than the stock 2.8 V6. But still, it's a pretty rare car and worth saving.

Would it qualify as a "Stock" Fiero?

it did a 14.6 in the 1/4, i dont know any stock 6's that do mid 14s. The V6 car listed next to it is the turbo version they offer for the gt

I'm not trying to bash the car, I was just reading the "PERFORMANCE" section of the post above and commenting on the stats. The artical indicates that the car was faster than the Duke but slower than the V6.

Check again. Unless I'm misunderstanding, the V-6 is modded and Miller-Woods turboed.
