Retro fit ABS brakes have been a problem in just about any car. Nice idea, but potentially a very pricey upgrade. I haven't read of any success stories on that modification.

Well getting the rotors to fit right for one cause they have a sensor ring on them, then getting the sensor mounted in JUST the right spot. Mounting all the pumps for the ABS, they take up allot of space... Im not an abs fan at all... just dont like it. It wouldnt really be wirth all the hassle. If you just want to stop better i can link you to a Corvette 12" brake upgrade that is a DIY jobby thats only about IF 200$ to do! It was done by another forum member.

Just my .02$

Peace

Putting ABS on a Fiero would be very hard and costly. You cannot just swap the ABS from one car to another. The ABS is designed for a particular cars weight/distribution, wheelbase, and chassis charactoristics. So even if you could get parts to fit, You would need to have the system balanced/tuned for the car.

Hi all,

Ok with the post above I now see why it's so costly, and to be honest with ya'll I was told once that non abs brakes can lock up or sieze (sp) and be hard to unstick, I am not saying you just can't lift off the pedal, well like I said before, brakes are new territory......Thanx for all the info, this site and all you guyz are sensational helpful.....
