I love your laugh in the car as you hit 80mph. I hope to giggle the same way when my DOHC swap is done. you can just feel the excitement watching the video, great job.

Thanks! It felt so good after working on it for so long to finally be able to get a little taste of whats to come! It's an awsome feeling! I'm sure it will be for you as well. All the pain, sweat, cussing and fussing is well worth every letter!

Well, the car has been running a little warm for my liking. I checked on the fan I installed and it only flows 1400CFM - So - I got this one instead, a 2800CFM MONSTER Built in thermostat, manual turn on capable and air conditioning relay built in. Hopefully this will keep the beast a little cooler. Back in the garage we go tomorrow! Look Archie, it's even got a shroud!

With the installation of the new 19's I had to ditch the drop spindles - Lucky Renee! I also got around to mounting the nose WOOO HOOOO! and installing the HUGE cooling fan to keep this beast cool. There isn't enough space for the overflow bottle so I got a quart size one that I'm installing this weekend along with other work...
Removing the drop spindles - Datacop was giving me a hand...
The nose finally installed for good!
The new cooling fan - This should do the trick!
No room for the overflow bottle...has to be replaced with a smaller one...
More to come after the weekend...
Thanks for looking!

i looked at a small catch can at a car show last weekend. a little bigger than a spray paint can. billet aluminum. kind of costly and small, but i'm thinking two would be nice sitting together. one for rad. overflow, the other as a small windshield washer fluid resevoir.

I looked a the billet ones but just couldn't get myself to spend over $100 for a coolant catch can...So I got this JAZ can from Jegs instead. 4" X 9" 1 quart capacity... under $20...

I got the one from Street Works. It's polish bullet aluminum, taller, and cheaper. I need to get another one for the window washer container which is too big and is in the way in the front dept.
Chester question; I know that you have the RCC suspension set-up. Was the front set-up easy to install, direct bolt up? I might need one for the front on my other car only. I'm thinking about getting the upper and lower arms. Is it possible to install them w/o coil-overs using the stock springs? ------------------

madcurl, you cannont use the tubular arms and stock springs, there are no lower spring locators, only a lower mount for the coil over set up. other than that the only hard part about the install is removing the old arms, mostly cause of seized bolts, and just removing the bump stop metal cone but 5 min with an impact happer and it's out.

Well I hope by removing the drop spindles you don't have to go out and by new taller springs? I had to raise my front when I too bought big rims up front to clear inner tire fender. I was near the end of the coil-over thread...no choice.

I finally got all the parts to get the cold air intake designed and installed. I used a procharger hat that I purchased off EBay and a PRM canister style filter. The canister houses a 9" cone filter and is 15" long. I have a 12" cone filter on order. These are K&N style high flow filters. The filter will get cold air from the driver side IRM scoop via a veloicty stack that came with the filter.
I needed to do this because I noted my intake temps as high as 190 degrees with just the little triangular foam filter. Does anyone else know what you average for intake temps on a V8??
I'm also planning dual fans bolted to the bottom of the side vents to suck air out.
Now the pictures!
The 15" PRM filter
Drilling out the hole itn the hat to accomidate the low profile button head.
The buttonhead that I used and a o-ring to seal it. I still have about 1/2" clearance to the decklid with this setup.
The hat with the 1/2" spacer. The hat wouldn't clear the IAC.
Test fit
