A friend who at one time, had the new Celica headlights in his Miata. The look was very clean and stock looking. After looking at it for over a year now, I wondered if it would look nice in a Fiero? Or perhaps the new NSX headlights? Anyway what are you guys thoughts on it? Could someone graft-in a pair on the fiero?

An integral part of having a custom car is knowing when to stop... its easy to get carried away and go too far... i think in your car right now you have the perfect amount of stock and custom. that car is hella-rad and timeless because it hasn't gone too far.

Mad, I'm in the middle of a suspension rebuild now but I've been thinking exactly like you concerning head lights. I have never liked the pop-ups and plan my own custom set-up maybe next year. I've even thought some motorcycle style lights might fit. Only thing I don't want to modify my nose.

Yeah I agree, however I'm talking about my next project Fiero, not the Silver choptop. Sorry, I should have stated what car. I want (2) Fieros but with different motor, molds, and color. Oh yeah, I get very bored, so I must stay busy with the Fieros....or else, hehe.
So what about the NSX lights? I know I could go with flush mount(they look very nice) but, I wanted something a little different. Any Grafic designers out there?

I've wanted to do something like that to the Fiero for a long time. The closest I ever came was trading emails with Norm at Norms Fiberclass about adapting his flushmounts to use 90mm Hella headlights (4 of them) instead of the recangular ones. He said it should work fine and he could do it, but I'd need to buy the lights and ship them to him and he could do it. Total, it was something like $400-$500 IIRC, which is more than I had, and still more than I have Darned engine swap

That's just cruel - posting that it's done but not have pics! Can't wait to see 'em!
Heheheehe.............Sorry guys/gals I actually came across this thread by mistake. I'm over 300 miles away from my car at the moment. My camera man isn't at home in Bakersfield CA. I'll be there hopefully this Friday to take camera phone pics, heheehehe. Songman is busy and Chester is taking care of his wife so I'll send them to Exoticse to post later if he wants too?
So as you can tell I haven't seen them yet and I don't have a clue as to how it will look besides. I only decided to get them because my friends Miata had them molded in. At the time the NSX lights wasn't available and the Lambo lights where $5G's..... so the Celica's at $500 a set seemed better. However someone could photo shop one in while we "all" wait? Which was my original question five months ago.

This thread of mine from months ago has some Photoshops that are similar, including the idea I was talking to Norm about. Just something to look at while we wait for a PS of the NSX or Celica Lights.
Madcurl... I still have those brand new 300zx lights that i'm trying to sell (aka lambo lights) $300 + shipping... let me know if you're interested because if you aren't... they will hit ebay next week
Its true... I abandoned this project... why? I had to make a choice... custom body = cool looks, or 3800SC II = fast car... naturally I went with performance before looks..
Let me know [edit] to add pic

I can see why you went for the 3800SC, I would too. Thanks Nebiros88 for the offer, but I already have the Celica headlambs for the Fiero Redux. Although my Silver choptop is sport'n stock I currently have no plans on changing them. The motors are fairly new and now I have a extra set.
Besides, I'm like Chester. I need to drive the darn thing, it's summer!

No problem curls i will have them up as soon as you send them ! Unless i am at work lol. In that case i will post them when i get home.
Part of building a custom car is taking risks. Some turn out, others don’t, the trick of course is picking the right modification. I’ve thought about the current Celica headlights, while they may look good, I have a feeling the first thought that’s going to pop into people’s mind who see it for the first time is; rice! The NSXs do look like a better design match and the Mitsubishi 3000GT has been mentioned before too. I think the old C4 (Corvette 84-96) flip overs would be different, but technically challenging, also the new C6 has exposed headlamps, might be interesting to see those photoshopped. I guess I’m old-school, while I don’t mind some modification I still like Fiero’s to look like Fiero’s. But the bottom line is it’s your car, do what you like.

I would, except I paid $300+shipping when I bought them, and they have done nothing but sit in the box... They are more expensive from the dealer... these have never bee installed on any car, full assemblies, crystal clear glass, perfect seals etc.. (sales speel)
I'm not trying to make money off of these, just trying to get out of them what I paid
I will wait until next week and put them on ebay, if they dont hit the $300+shipping... I might have to break and chalk it up as a loss.
I suck at photoshop, but heres a quick copy, paste job...
Thanks for the photo shop Jncomutt.
Oh oh! I think they look funny? Maybe because, they visually look too big? I may have to start over? From what Joe and I talked about...they were going to be more inward with either the edge of the light lining up wit the stock hood or using the outer flip-light panel area as a line with part of the outer line molded in.
Now I'm afraid to go and see it, hehehehe. It might be to "rice." hehehehe. The Corvette lights look really good but, if the Nissans cost $300+, Celica's $464, $5000 Lambo's, Nsx's $964, and so the new Corvette's gotta be at lease $1700? I was shocked that the lambo's where $5g's, which should be $1700.

Looking at that pic it looks fine the way it is so if you move it forward you will haveto cut into the fascia dont you think it would be practical to do?

I've seen the final model 3000gt lights put on a fiero... it was a 2M6 or an 85 GT and it looked pretty good. Actually a helluva lot like the new NSX lights... x-ept they didn't look like the photoshopped pic. The lights look too damn big. Though i know i couldn't do much better. the car i've seen that done to was in california when i lived there... so that's your game MadCurl. i dunno if the car is still around. fieros drop like flies these days. it's a damn shame i don't have the money to do these type of swap. i'd get those awesome looking nissans. they look sweet @$$ sweet. well, gotta get back to regular life. peace out. -Skank.

Yeah thats the ideal...cutting into part of the front fascia (nose) with the Celica headlamps. Practical? What's that? The only things that are practical on my cars are the cup holders and power sterring unit. hehehe.
Whewwww......thats better. Thanks guys. Looks okay with me from this pic but the outer edge of the leadlambs "flows more closely (inward at the bottom of light) with the edge of the stock Fiero. Other words, the top area of lights are also close to the edge of the stock hood/fender.
Anyway I'm still nervous like "a little girl."

Okay I just got off the phone with the glass man and he said that they look good. Hmmmmmm......? My Camera man is having some technical diffitculties with getting me the darn pics. Some idiot stole his camera.......what theif is that stupid? <trace it back to the ones the theif calls>
So I guess I'll have to wait until Friday. Reuben said that he used the outer edge of the flip panel and placed the edge of the headlamp along it's edge and the corner part of the hood is molded now. The lights are completly inside the stock headlight area and not in the front compartment. The distal end of the light extends towards the front nose of the bumper by 6-8" Pretty close between the yellow and blue pic photo-shop'd ones. The head light that contains the actual lens is close to the original hood/fascia line. Sorry guys, thats the info from my ppl there.

The only difference I know of between Nissan and lambo lights are that the nissans have a 1/4" x 1" Nissan up towards the top of the glass... You would have to get up close and get a good view to even tell the difference between $300 lights and $5000 lights... If glassed correctly you could even cover the Nissan part.
Sorry for gettin off track... trying to convince someone to buy these from me
they do look really good on a fiero... (Installed view by Stefan - Germany)
