RadRuss I'm glad Ian is going to finish your VDC kit and returning the monies to prevoius customers. Question did Ian change his home phone number? I still have it but, I've been so busy + I'm steamed! If I lived in FL I would go by his house. The only thing that I question is: If Jerry and John were the (ones) that worked on the VDC kits, how is it that ian is able to finish them? IMO I would double back on Ian answer he gave you and re-check that story with Jerry. I would state that (you) want pic of the progress. Remember, all one has to due is drag it out 60 days and you're screwed!

I take no credit for the information here, just my experiences with Car Excess (which most already knew). The "other" person is the one that informed me about the Enronish dealings. That "other" person is the one that "gets the credit" here, not me. I'm just a buyer that nearly got screwed big time! I lost my car cover, for others.......their lost maybe more?

Well I just got some VERY interesting info on this subject...As one of the people getting screwed for the moment..
The "new" phone # for car excess is actually ians home # and melony who is answering the phones is his wife. As of midnight tonight they will no longer be in the building in which they were operating, they are now in their garage, The old employees are taking over the company and will be operating under a new identity. I gave Kelly our address here on pennocks so in the next day or two will hopfully chime in. RADRUSS be carfull on what ever Ian has promised you, he is appearantly in a lot deeper dodo than we all know, and has NO PRODUCT to send out To top it all off his wife is still taking orders for honda bolt on kits

ok this is what is going on: i used curlys one post with jd's cell #, i called and got ahold of him. he gave us ians full name and what ever info he could on him. he would have gave the home addy if he new it but he told us to call the office and gave that # to us. we called the office and within 5 mins that phone was shut off, but got a number which i belive to be kellys home phone. we called that and a girl picked up who is not kelly, but she gave us the info on what happend and ians home phone and address. we called ian and talked to him. he is not able to finish the kit, it is half done, jerry took his jiggs, so the only thing he could do was return our money. he told my dad that when we order the kit from decah to call him and he would help explain what needed to be altered on the decah kit to get it to work. everyone was straight up with us and gave us all the info we needed. also my dad called the local cops down in fl to let them know what was going on. the cop was suprised b/c he knows car excess and see tons of cars going in and out of the place, and he has seen their work.my dad is giving ian 5 days to credit his cc back and if he doesnt he will be pressing charges against ian, seeing how he still has other peoples kits not finished either. i am going to wait for my money back and then start posting ians # on import forums so if there are any onther people who order kits from them they can get their cash back too, cuz now no one will be able to get ahold of car excess, # does not work and ian took the files so i doubt he will call all the clients to let them know. but thats the story, thanx to curly for all the heads up info.
Did he purposely screw those guys, or was it just that his business situation got screwed up?
No it was on purpose..from what I was told he went out and bought himself a new truck/Trailer setup, his wife a new car, and completely remodled his house. all the while not paying any taxes or his employees

As was mentioned by others here, that # is now Ian home phone#. He (Ian) had transfered it to his home now. I talked to melondy (mispelled I'm pissed okay) about my $179 car cover and where is it?
She: It's right here in front of me. Me: look, send me my car cover C.O.D. (chespest rate) and I'll pay for it. She: we were going to send it as soon as "we" get some money to send it. Me: Just send me my car cover and I'll pay for my shipping. Is it cleaned? She: Yes.
So thats the story on the car cover guys/gals. Question: Do you think they will ship it? Granted my car cover has been in their hands since I left Florida.
Now the story with the "new" company.
The new company's name is: XFCustom Inc. It's being run by the former employees Jerry and Kelly and maybe John? The new company will have their new web page up soon.
possible good news: Frank VDC kit will be fix'd like mine or better by XFCustom Inc. once the dust settles.
Possible bad news: If you have bought items from the former company, IMO (once again) CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND STOP PAYMENTS! Otherwise you may be forced to stop buy Ian's house for a hard scotum squezze!!!!!!
ATTN: RadRuss. Ian cleaned-out the shop. Waiting 5-10 days maybe too late? Ian may say, "he's going to ship them out or still sell the VDC kits." If he (Ian) can't send me my car cover back, what makes you think he's going to send a $2000 part back? Don't say I didn't warn you.

Also with the implosion does this mean the knowledge to modify the decah hinges to fit a fiero have been lost forever ??

Nah, There are several ways you can modify the Decah hinges to fit the Fiero. Mine were put on by welding two small pieces to the hinge. I have seen pics of a Fiero that had two pieces cut off the hinge, then welded on in a different way which ends up with the same result, but allows the VDC hinges to be more easily removed from the car...

Curly (Madcurl) has done a lot to help in this matter. Hopefully the new company XF Custom Inc makes my wifes car right. The basic conversion is good - but the cosmetics need to be corrected. I'd like to get the Dragon done with time also.

Dragon did they (car excess)do your wife's car originally ?? Or are you just looking to the new company to clean up some one else's previous work ?
Just curious. Any body taking a chance on the new venture or is everybody going elsewhere for their lambo doors ??
Car Excess originally did the VDC kit on Dragon's wifes car. The new company, run by Jerry, Kelly and John are going to make it right by fixing pass mistakes under the new company.
The million dollor question is: If Dragon's wife Fiero is fix'd as good as mine was or better, maybe those may venture out and get their car done by them or by another person who shall remain nameless for right now.
But the finale answer is left with Dragon and his wife. Only time will tell?
