Great pix guys .... I know I had a great time at Wheatstock. Even if I was suffering from the flu or something :-(.... Wish I could've spent more time on the track with Y'all !!!
I had a bunch of pics too .... as soon as I have 'em developed I'll get some posted !!!!!!!!
Thanx everyone for coming out to Wheatstock .... those who missed it .... well you missed it .... we had a fantastic time !

I was reading the post about this event, is it true there were only 70 fieros for the car show, it's hard to believe that since CFOG-I and such a major turn out for Michigan last year.
So is it true only 70 fieros for the car show??????
Yup ... turnout for the show was light. Maybe it was the location, maybe there are those who still dought CFOGi's capabilities, maybe it was the economy ... who knows ???
What I do know is ... those that were there seemed to have a fantastic time !!! I know I did !!!
CFOGi will do it again next year ... stay tuned !!! ... we're in this thing for the long haul !
The mix of car show and real driving events are what we are all about. All it takes is your support and we'll keep on drumming up these things for Y'all to do.
The mix of racing Fieros guys and show car guys seems to be bringing about some interesting transformations .... I saw the race guys rubbin and waxin' ... I seen the show guys out there driving the AX, drags and road coarse. AWESOME ... best of both worlds.
So c'mon Y'all .... see www.cfogi.org for membership applications !!! Help us get bigger, better, and stonger. We are a members club ... the members of CFOGi are what make things like the 20th and Wheatstock happen ! Kudos to you all.
We should have exact participation numbers for Y'all within a day or two ... (well John probrably knows right now actually)

Ouch! That's a tough shot - I just wish I would've had a pic of the look on Carissa's face when the truck towed me into the pits I thought she was going to kill me (and she would've if the problems had been fatal to the car). If you happen to have a bigger version of that, could you send it my way at rob@xtralite.com ?
In any case, we nursed the car all the way home without further incident (aside from not really trusting the oil pressure gauge - which would read only about 35psi while cruising and would drop into the red zone every time the RPMs dropped below 1500). No sounds or sights of further trouble, but I'll definitely be looking into it before I drive it much more!

I had heard it was just under 100 (like in the 90's), but I didn't do the tallying of the entries. We'll get a definitive count up on the CFOGi site soon!

I counted 75 including 3 cars that were off to the side.

It is true that there weren't as many cars as I had expected to see, but I wasn't surprised to find out about the number of cars, because I was there, and was one of them.

Yes, but what it lacked in Numbers, it clearly made up for with insane moments in Fiero History!
I knew it!!!!!!!!!!! this guy is from Tucson!!! ......... i wish i had the chance to meet him.....his car is the fastest fiero here in tucson.........or so im told!

Yeh Roys88fiero the car was amazingly fast in the autoX, best time of the day (IIRC). He was a very nice guy. I chatted with him a bit and I know others did too. He did not seem to mind explaining the same thing to 5 different people at five different times. The width of the tires he has on there is amazing. Jon

Litespd, your right the WI guys and myself included didn't attend, only because of one of the reasons Dale2m4 listed, budget! Alot of are "show car diehard guys" get together and kinda decide what shows they are all really going to attend and if there are shows a couple of them just go themselfs, but this year the big talk the "show car guys talked about" attending: The Dells, Alburn show, Fierorama and POCI was the last choice, but we still had couple guys here or there attend the Minn. Show, St Louis Show, and Wheatstock.

John, I hope that I didn't come off as being an @ss....you guys up in Wisconsin have some of the nicest cars around, and you were missed at Wheatstock! I know there was at least ONE Wisconsinite there...I KNOW his name, but it escapes me right now...but he owns the Aldino. "TOO FAR" is his personalized plate...I know that you know who I'm talking about. (Edit...it was Don Kraus) We could have used your participation....we had a LOT of fun, but you guys would have just added to it...not to mention, made the showfield a bit more crowded...

That's Tom Hill, one half of Team Python. Tom helped George Ryan make last minute adjustments to the autocross course on Friday morning. And, as someone already said, he's one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. He is a REAL class act...and I mean that with the utmost respect!

Well, I can't beleive it's taken me this long to post about Wheatstock, but I just have to say that it was a blast!!! It was really nice meeting so many that I've seen on the forum and to put a face with a screen name!! I'd like to thank everyone who helped put the show on along with everyone that showed up to partcicpate and make this event a success!! Without your support in this event and in CFOGi this never would have happened.
Shameless plug...been there, now join us to make things even better next time CFOGi membership
Here is a overall picture of the showfield
Wholf's finsihed custom rear vent
And of course the entrance to HPT
I suprised myself, I'm there the whole weekend and only got 18 pictures Thanks to everyone else for getting a bunch!!
See everyone at the next event.......maybe not to soon, for everyone that knew I was concerned about a vibration in the rear of my car, I believe I got it narrowed down to the wheel bearing or the CV jont/ axle.
Dan

From experience, I would have to say that the vibration from the rear would have to be the CV joint. I've had both a CV joint and bearing go bad and the the CV will make it vibrate pretty good. When my bearing went it just made noise.
Good luck though & thank for the pics.
