My Fellow Fieroians:
The caravan is set. Friday, October 8, 2004, we will meet in the parking lot of the EXXON at I-10 West and Ralph Fair exit, the exit is number 550 and is also known and marked as the Camp Stanley exit. There is a McDonalds co-located if you want a snack. We will start arriving at 2:00 pm and will hit the road at 3:00pm sharp.
Bring your walkie-talkies, we will gas up and zoom, zoom, zoom. Be sure and pack your smile and lets have a Fun Fiero time. I am sure Heidi and Sharon will have the camera's clicking away.
Please get on PENNOCKS, if you can, and keep the post alive.
Mike Parker
John, and all of our Fiero friends, please feel welcome to meet and join up with the caravan into the West Texas sunset. If you need clearer directions here are my numbers and I will do my best to help.
Looks like you people need to get your rooms booked so we can get the cost locked!!!!!
Greetings Mike and Alamo Area Fiero Obsessed (owners). I'll be sitting on the access road of IH 10 and Texas 16 at the Kerrville/Fredricksburg exit and will fall in as you caravan by. I'll have cliffw soaped on the rear window. What channel can I tune in on my CB to hear your radio posts?

I am going to be away from home often and want to help the honest guys stay honest. They will be able to calculate my schedule and I want to deprive them of a window of oportunity.
Theft Deterrents What I would like to have is some non-working outdoor surveilence cameras. I will rig them up with fake antenneas (to look as wireless, self powered units), make them obvious, and mount them high enough to escape further scrutiny. I already have a good Dobie but she only bites back. She only barks at unfamilliar scenarios. She can be befriended. I also have motion lights but my power can be disconnected outside my front fence where my service comes in. I also have a few trusted REAL friends who will help keep an eye out but they are not security guards. I also have a siren I "trip" (turn on) at the right time to make it sound as if I have some type of an alarm system. But I am vulnerable. Any other protective measures you can think of would be appreciated. I will pay for any postage and even consider buying a working system. I would hate to pay too much as I live in a pretty damn good community. I have not missed one thing in the ten years since I bought here but there are some suspect people who do not have jobs, thus not much else. Some just rented a little travel trailer next to me and thus Tara Rise (my dobie) may not scare them.
If anyone can fit them in their Fiero's extra storage space I would appreciate it. Thanks !

I don't know if FRS stations are the same as CBs, don't think so! I don't know if anyone will have a CB, 10-4. We will look for you at I-10 & HWY 16, we WILL leave Boerne at 3:00 pm sharp.
If you could get your hands on a FRS hand held radio, it would come in handy, catch you on the flip flop.
I got a couple questions. 1 Whats the weather going to be like this weekend? 2 Are any of the radio stations down there going to have the OU-texas game? Doug

Maybe Eddie could hook up with Scott Anderson who also lives in Corpus Christi.

"Hopefully" it will be nice. It has now rained everday for the last 2 weeks-an unheard of event out here. Came an absolute gusher this morning, but looking better for the weekend. I''ll be picking up a canopy to put up at the site Sat morning, but hope it will only be needed to provide a little shade.
Any carvans from Houston? Cheever when you heading out? I'm definitely heading out Friday just don't know when.
The bad news is I have to work Friday evening, so I can't leave until I get off. I'll drive all night to get there early in the morning. The good news is my 3rd shift guy has agreed to come in early so I can get out of here. I will leave work between 10:00 and 10:30 pm, then go home to get my son. I will probably leave my house between 11:00 and 11:30. From Missouri City, I'm taking the Sam Houston Tollway up to I-10.
Surely the Houston people can travel together coming home Sunday. But I want to check out a twisty road that a co-worker tried to tell me about. Maybe the AAFO guys know it. It's either 1050 going east from Garner State Park, or it's 337 going east from Leakey, TX.

FRS is Family Radio Service. It is in the UHF 460Mhz to 470Mhz band. CB is in the HF 27Mhz band. Heidi picked up a pair of FRS walkie-talkies at Wal-Mart last year for (for last years Ruckus) for about $15.00. Don't know if they are still that cheap. They work great for caravaning! See you at the Ruckus!!!!!

Is the forecast still showing a drying out by Saturday? It's raining cats and kittens here in Houston right now.
Houston is getting what passed thru here last night (Wed). Forcast right now calls for partly cloudy wwith a 20% chance of isolated t-showers for Fri & 10% Sat & Sunday. It has been clear all day, and still is, so hopefully it will hold.
my home ph is 325 942 1073. I will be off tomorrow, but will be in and out, with a long list of things to do. Gotta go check the cruise route to make sure there is no water over the roads, go to the rental place for the canopy, put up signs that the weather took out, and try to clean my car. Just got the clutch fixed tonite. I'll meet yall at The Little River club for an adult beverage tomorrow night. It is on premises at Comfort Inn. Watch for signs similar to this-12" X 17" at exits and intersections and you shouldn't have any trouble getting to the Comfort Inn.
And...If anyone has a spare MAP sensor for a non dis 4cyl, (used is fine) kindly bring it along. The one on Jane's 84 went south (code 34) and I can't get one in here till next Tuesday. She's in limp mode. (her car that is).
