Are you using windows media player?

I have never done video work before this so I wasnt sure was the most common format so I just went with .wmv
If you know of a format that works let me know and I'll try to get it converted over so you can see it.

thanks for the kind words guys... it will sound much better once I get some tips on it.
not too bad of quality video for a cheap digital camera that has a video feature as an extra...

[edit] Finally hit page 2...woohoo.

Hey Matt,

The Video worked fine yesterday, but it is a dead link today.

Email me that file and I will host it on your build page.

Little update...

I am about 1/4 of the way done with the planned bodywork but i keep coming up with more stuff I want to do so it may remain 5 different colors for a little while longer.

I have been throwing around a few paint scheme ideas and wanted to see what everyone thought... Usually I like something until a flaw or different idea turns me around. Let me know what you think...good or bad.

for the last couple of days I have been ordering more parts and working on finishing my archie scoops but I will be posting some pics of my slow progress later, if anyone is interested.

Thanks

#1

Just really like a black car.

#6 however since it does not require a complete color change.

this is the first I've seen of this. Congrats on the swap. I'm gonna go with Red all the way. Do you have any pics of the car in its current stage?

thanks for the bump.

While looking at pictures of wingstands and bs'ing in the chat room I got to talking with Blakeinspace about his 7" stands. Long story short he bumped the wheatstock thread with a pic of his car and it looked sharp.

5mins later i do a quicky photoshop and came up with something close.

I like the look but I thinkthe 7" stands are just too tall so I might get a set and modify them to about 4-5"... Maybe not... i gotta keep staring at it and see if it grows on me

let me know what you think of the blackout look

[edit] I didn't see the above post (early morning) thanks for the compliments KissMySSFiero, I do have current pics...but its not pretty...
this is a glimpse of her taken last week. Everything is just sat on there not really in place yet.

Body Mods:
modified mustang scoop
modified Commodore SS cowl on hood
modified (shortened & blended) angled and flared wingstands
modified Aero front and rear bumpers
Modified Integrated Rocker Panels

the list goes one and on with a few secrets here and there... I plan to get the car out on the road once I get my headers back from Jethot, that way the car gets tons of roadtime to test the new bodywork for any stress cracks before i send it to the paint shop.

thanks

I would go with the IMSA spoiler but for some reason whenever I look at it I think "cartoon hero cape"... just not really my taste
I wish there was a whale tail spoiler for the notchback *ponders* hmm gotta look into that

I think it looked fine as a stock Formula.

I'm not a fan of raised wings, but for some reason it really does look good on Blake's car. I got a good look at it at Wheatstock when he rode my butt for a couple laps, then I let him by. The next turn he spun out

You shoulda just left it stock with a wrap around spoiler and some side scoops...

The Mustang Scoop is played, toss it.

Just return it to stock and put a fastback on it

SCCA stock is no fun unless you're a collector... and I've never been one to collect a car.... I couldnt let it sit there, it would have to be driven.

plus, with the front end wreck, why spend a lot of $$ restoring it to origional when you could spend that on modding it to what you want.

the mustang scoop isn't for sure yet, might find something different to use

And as far as converting it to a fastback? not a chance the only way I would own a fastback is it it had a choptop

Very nice project. I am always partial to all black cars the only problem is that they do not photograph and or show details well.

I was torn between 1, 3, and 4 before i made my decision for you to go with number 4 !!

Here is why

#1 all black sharp, but again does not show details well.

#3 nice combination with the red and black, but most of your details are on the black bottom section so it kind of negates it.

#4 is the winner because it gives the uniqueness of the black red combo, the black is on top so it gives it a more sinister
look, with the red on the bottom it lends iin some sportiness while still allowing you to be able to show details

IMO go with #4 !!!!!!!

P.S. I like the raised wing (5-6" IMO),...go for it !

The Bodywork begins...

First up to the chopping block... the hood.

Why such a big hole? easy... I read Ski's thread a while back and noticed and noted how he did his cowl. Well we talked for a while in chat the other night ago and I agreed with him that it would probably provide better airflow.

Well, just because of my curious nature I wanted to test and prove this theory for myself.... so I chopped out the half moon hole like many others have done for their scoops; and put it on the car. I started the car and rev'ed it for a little while (since I just got the exhaust coated and it needed curing anyways) until the fan kicks on, so I go up and try and feel the air coming out.... I must say it was disappointing. So I go out, chop out the rest of the hood section (as pictured) and put it back on to re-test... this time 2-3x the amount of air flowed out. So there you have it, tested and proven. Props go to Ski on the Engineering of this.

Anyways, projects on the list: Finish the cowl hood, smooth the rear bumper, create a lip for the front bumper, make 5" flared and tilted wingstands, bond on the customized mustang scoop onto the rear, fix Archies rockers and attempt to install them, smooth the trim, the list is never ending.

If you're interested in this thread check back every once and a while because I will be posting progress pics whenever I get the chance.
Thanks

Wow, this is something I never expected I would see again unless I bumped it myself.

No real new updates, due to the amount of time I have to work on my car I have decided to wait on the full custom body. I will be using Stage 2s now instead of the IRM rocker, it will be getting a straight black paint job and I'm working on a spare door skin to shave the handles and keep the trim all the way across... Finally decided I wont be able to do the smoothing of the trim because its just not logical in this town, some punk ass kid would probably end up barely hitting my car and then I would have to cut the panels apart to replace and then repaint... too much $$ for the risk.

Stage 2s will be here sometime in the next 2-3 weeks and I will get those mounted and take some new pics of my hood and bump this with some pics.

thanks for the bump

What happen to the Rockers from Archie you were putting on your car? Did you have any problems with them fitting properly or did you just change your mind? I am just curious to why you changed direction with them.
