Well, that's not the one that was at the 20th. Here's a couple of links with photos, there's a lot more if you search for them, these are just two that I had in my Favorites...
I believe that the silver one is/was the 1989/1990 Coupe/Notchback version... There's some picture's of the Silver one's sitting outside in a holding yard in Aussieland of all place's! ;dizzy:

Either you're joking, or just out of your mind! That car is freaking TITS!

I loved it too I could not believe it when I first seen it their. Acura must have seen a photo or too because their NSX looks alot like the 90 prototype.

Any ideas where I can get some wheels like those? They are awesome!
I believe those are the same wheels that came on the Trans Am GTA's. The offset (and possibly the bolt pattern) wouldn't be right to just put 'em right on your Fiero, though...

They're not the same as the GTA's. The only other set I know of are on FieroMonkey's prototype.

Fear not! The red 90 prototype is awsome but the pics of the cars (i will not call them fieros blah!) in the first link that was provided are just plain ugly ! they did nothing for me except turn my stomach ! sorry for the confusion. The fiero is a sports car ,short, low and sleek, those other cars are none of the above.
This is the plastic wheel Pontiac and Motorwheel were working on. The plastic wheel program was done and abandoned by 1987. The 1990 has aluminum wheels to the best of my knowledge.

Those wheels were used on the later Trans Ams. GM had these wheel centers custom drilled for the Fiero bolt pattern. Theoretically it might be possible to get a set of the Trans Am wheels and do some welding/machine work to convert them to the Fiero mounting, but I wouldn't trust a wheel that's been modified that way.

Yeah, those look like the 16x8" GTA wheels. It would be easier to change the Fiero bolt pattern to the 5x4.75" than modify the wheels to the Fiero's 5x100mm. Not sure what the offset would do to you, though, since the 90 proto has much wider fenders. Those wheels would probably stick WAY out - looking like some Mexican low-rider with rubber 2" outside the fenderwells.
'88-'92 Trans Am 16x8" (5x4.75")
Another option would be to go with OEM FWD wheels: '89-'86 Grand Prix 16x8" (5x115)
'93-'99 Bonneville 16x7" (5x115)
You'd probably only be able to use the F-body wheels with either a modded suspension, IMSA wide body, or fender flares. The Bonneville and Grand Prix wheels are very similar, but don't have the deep dish offset. Of course, that deep offset is what really made the wheels stand out. Otherwise they look like 16" versions of stock Fiero wheels.

did you happen to take any pictures of the interior while you were at it? any nice hi-res pictures?
Nope, I didn't get any of the interior. I wasn't around when the doors were unlocked. I was asleep when they unloaded, and in the banquet when they loaded it up again.
All the pictures I have on the web are high res, 2048 x 1532. You should be able to download any of them.
Even if you like the looks of the 90 GTA prototype, you gotta admit its silly.
It has a stock 88 spaceframe. All the changes are cosmetic - a bunch of extra plastic - no more engine space, no more passenger space. Just a bunch of extra weight, and a larger trunk.
I'd rather have the 90 coupe body (looks like those are 2 different cars in 1st pic and i'm not sure either was the one they produced) - maybe they woulda continued the Formula. Of course the wheels (hubcaps?) in that pic are extremely fugly.
Saturn body panels are lighter than Fiero panels - that combined with a stronger engine woulda made a great 90 Formula.

That last pic is a horrible representation of the nose. Look at the fascia in the 2nd pic for scale.

How do you figure? It's my understanding that Saturn body panels and Fiero body panels are made exactly the same way. I believe that Saturn even uses some of the same machines that were used during Fiero production in creation of the body panels.

You can mold different thicknesses of materials (and even different materials) with the same machines. The fact that they may use some of the same machines means absolutely nothing. Sheet metal has gotten thinner over the years too - GM sometimes uses the same presses for different gauges rather than buying a new press.
I dont mean to imply that there would be an enormous weight savings, but there is a difference.
I have one of each in my driveway. You know which one hurts less to punch.
Edit: Quote from this article: http://www.plastics-car.com/applications/exterior.html "The first use of plastic in body panels was in Chevrolet's Corvette (SMC), followed by Pontiac's Fiero (RIM). General Motor's Saturn line of cars is the first to use thermoplastics."
