I like to wire up the engines at home. It takes about 6 to 10 hrs to re wire, because with having a full time day job and engine swaps on the go some evenings, I end up being away and not coming home untill the boys are asleep. So my big blue blanket has seen 4 wiring jobs now.

Lol, I never really thought of you using that room for that when I was there in august. LOL! Now that I think about it, though, it seems a nice place to be able to do it..

Damn that look so familiar, I did mine in the basement though and had a chair. Good luck with the wiring, I goofed up on 1 wire and it killed two altenators for me to find it. For some unknown reason I hooked up the altenators voltage sening input to the original cold start injector wire from the old set-up. Only got voltage upon start up, after that it wasn't sensing any voltage so It was constantly giving out full power and slowly frying the regulators.

Nice pile of wires but i've seen worse. Being in the audio/lighting field i've had massive wiring snakes that would scare the average person. Once again keep up the good work.
P.S. I did pick the best man for the job. That's because behind every great man there is a great woman.

Beck is great, I will be just getting into to groove and she will pook her head up and say "you done yet!" Makes me laugh, I wired Iannoy's engine out at the shop and it was a long 8+ hours. Now with my blue blanket I can take time out for a break and do other thinks like change diapers and other stuff.

Actually, they both can start off overwhelming, and messing, but after a bit of time it all comes out as good as new. Just wires don't smell but neither can they smile back at you.

Looking good Pete. What type of exhaust set up do you have there. Is the new throttle body in and was it any different than the first one you had. As for the CRX intake can water get in to the throttle body during heavy rains with wind? Didn't the fiero original have some type of damper or something like that to prevent water from getting in? How do you change or clean the air filter?

Your exhaust is one long glass pack modified by adding a T to the center for the inlet off the engine manifold. The throttle body you sent is the same other than yours has all the sensors with it so we don't need to purchase any more, yes that is the one you supplied on there now. The crx style cold air intake is used on countless fieros, including ours, the filter is within the space ahead of the lhs rear wheel. I suppose it is more possible to suck up water but I have not heard of a problem from any one. When you are at your car I will show you where it is and how deep of water you can get into. Also how to service the filter. We are planning on starting up the engine on Monday.

Out for a drive in thecage's s/c street machine. Runs great, I definately like the standard transmission. It will be hard, as always, to give up the keys when the owner comes by to pick up thier car.

Spoke to Pete last night and I could "hear" the smile in his voice as he was givening me the update on the first driving empressions of the car. It's a good sign to me when he says "this thing is a rocket and loud". What more can you ask for. He will be keeping the car for a couple of more days to clean up some wiring and putting on a few miles to work out any kinks if any before handing the keys over. (Sounded more like he was having too much fun to give up the keys) By the way it is true with people who have engine swaps done, you just can't get that silly grin off your face and I didn't even get the car back yet.
Becky, thanks for letting Pete take the time from the family life to get these types of projects done.

Man that looks sexy! Not you Pete. I mean the engine! lol....I want one!!!
You know, seeing those wires spread out all over the living room reminds me of the time my wife caught me rebuilding (filthy)calipers on her nice dining room table. I wish I had a blue blanket. :{

Well I picked up the car this afternoon at around 2:30pm and linenoise was right it does look better in person than in pictures. Drove it around London for a bit just to test it and let me tell you holy sheeeat does that thing move. I've never had a car with that much power. Was pulling hard in every gear except 1st which came and went very quickly. I was only shifting at about the 3000rpm range was to afraid to go any further as it is scary fast for me. We stopped for lunch at Jack Astors and parked right beside a Corvette Z06 405hp and this time I was not intimidated to have my car next to a machine like that knowing I could hang with this guy without being embarraseed. Drove back to Brampton (suburb of TO) about a two hour drive without incident. The car performed perfectly. I could easily overtake anybody i wanted and could easily catch up to guys zipping by me doing 130K while I was doing 100K our speed limit at the time. This car sure is fun to drive and addictive. Got back to Brampton and had to take my son and a few of his friends for rides the expressions on there face was priceless. I just finally put the car in my garage for the night. For those of you conteplating this swap do not hesitate it is perfect. Badda Bap Bap Ba I'm loving it. I will keep everyone informed of the reliability and any glitches. Once again I would like to thank Pete for doing an outstanding job and I was honered to be the first 3800SC swap that he has done. I'm sure there are more to come.

I am glad to see the car worked as it should for you. I enjoyed having it for a couple days to "break in". I will pass on to Jim that you are very pleased with our work and your "new" car.
