I just got these off ebay, and I need to know what size tires I should be running on them. They aren't the most "bling" wheels in the world, but considdering that they are brand new, and cost me only $54 each after shipping, they will do just fine. They are for the silver SE, not the GT. I was thinking that 255/50R-16, but that may be a bit wide. That is the stock tire size for camaros with 16's.

I recommend 215/50-16 front and 225/50-16 rear. Anything 245 or wider will degrade handling because the contact patch will not be able to stay flat. I recommend BF goodrich Traction T/A tires, speed rating V. They are a great high performance all season tire and are not that expensive.

i completely agree with bigfieroman, 225 rear and 215 front will fit those rims and still have a stiff enough side to promote better handling, anything wider will cause the sidewalls to flex more.

i have a pair of 16x8 camaro rims, and they have 235/55/16's on them, they are an inch wider so they can handle the bigger tire.

my 16x6.5" rims on my 85GT have 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear, the 225's look alittle wide on the 6.5" rim, so dont go any wider than than on a 7" rim.

I have a 16x7 rim and I'm running Michelin Pilot 205/55/16 tires on all four. They look a little thin for my liking so my next set of tires will definitely be wider.. probably a 215 front and 225 rear if I can.

Hey cool, you bought them.

On my 16s, I've got 225 50 rear, and 205 50 front. 215 50 is a nice size, but there's not a lot of tire options. 225 45 is also a nice size, but may have too short of sidewall for your liking. As the others have stated, 225 is as wide as you want to go on a 7" rim.

205/55/16 front

225/50/16 rear

...for optimum plus sizing correctness.

I'll second this suggestion; it preserves the factory suspension geometry and suits the car well.

i prefur 225-50 16's its close tot he same dia. as the stock 15, so the speedo will be accurate, and having the same size front n rear you'll be able to get more rotation out of them (front to rear, not just side to side) i have Kumho Ecsta 712's there cheep and sticky but junk in winter
on my GTP i have 245-50-16 and there nice and ride, they make my 225's look tiny

I hope you don't really rotate your tires side to side. That reverses the rotation of the tire and is a radial no-no. You could do that with bias tires, but I was under the impression that reversing the rotation would cause belt seperation (the kind of thing that kills you at speed.) There may have been advances in the manufacturing process that I am unaware of. If I am completely backwards on this, someone please let me know.

Az, as far as I know you can rotate tires where ever you want, except if they are directional. If you have a directional tire going the wrong way and hit water at speed, it actually FORCES the tire to hydroplane...worse than a slick.

i would say 225/50's all around (so you can rotate them) or 225 front 235 rear
